1 - Double information?
The research tooltip shows first, in white, what unit will receive the upgrade and what the upgrade is called. Then it shows, in orangeish, a unit name (usually the same) and the type of ability (passive, aura...)
It seems unlikely that the unit should ever need to be mentioned in both lines.
2 - Wrong unit name?
Meet the beetles, in campaign, shows as "Shaman - Target"; I don't think shamans have anything to do with this warlock power.
