Time for a new thread. Some to report.

- When starting a new game, a "Trophy Unlocked" message appeared in character creation. (And no, I didn't see anything in the "Trophies" section of the quest log.
- When asking Ismashell "I should decide what to do about you", I suddenly got 4675 XP for no reason. I hadn't even decided anything, I just chose the option.
- When combat first starts, you don't get any options to move or attack, but clicking on your portrait (either on the side or in the turn order) works to remind the game, and things work from there.
- Does Bodybuilding, in fact, do anything? I put a point in, and didn't see any changes to my stats.
- I quickloaded a saved game and got a "Trophy Unlocked" message.
- A Legionairre berated Junius and Bibius while standing by an orc coprse on the beach, nowhere near the bridge

- I got Rodrick saying "Don't worry, as long as I'm there to heal you ... After Scarlett healed herself
- Shovel : display "right click to dig" but it's "left click to dig
- Displacement bug with the orc "who don't like ous ravaging his friends gravestones

The same problem as Stabbey has about "Trophy Unlocked" Maybe sections about your trophies was unlocked,but I didn`t see any difference

And there was tiny update about 18 mb it upgrades from 1.0.666 to 1.0667 version
Who knows the change-log of that?

Hi stabbey for me it is version 1.0.167.0
- I also had the 4675XP- and "Trophy unlocked"-bug
- the crafting bug with one thing over itself still works (e.g. branch)
edit:
- the "pile of bones" at startlocation is empty - if it's a pile I should always be able to get some bones
- Levelup gains you upped health while being in combat with reduced health
- the bridge watchers (legionaires) aren't escorting my party because my male char won the arguement not to attack
- the barrel on the bridge behind the 2 legionaires on watch doesn't loose the yellow color indicating it's not empty but I already got the cup and the flour and it is empty!
- killing the orc shaman triggers the conversation "!" over scarlett while beeing in combat, but roderick can't speak with her while in combat (other orc still live!)
- dragging items, that are lying around, over the second char icon nothing happens, then changing the active character, those char goes to the item and picks it up
-you no longer can walk to the crate behind the broken ship down by the first orc-fight (but you can still open it by clicking on it?! while standing in front of the broken ship
- most crates in the starting region are empty while having 2 luck (only one crate had 4 gold in it, the trunks are fine

- the hitpoint gain for increasing bow or elementalist is only 1 HP per ability-point that is not much for spending 2points for reaching 2 or 3 for the next increase. Elementalist level is neede for possibility to use magic skillbooks but bow is not used for other uses?! so it is a waste of ability points to increase damage by 1 for each levelincrease?!

-if you attack the bridge watch (the 2 legionaires) they loose on dying other things than which they have to trade or fight with - no bow, no sword or shield, but a healing potion or a fishing rod?! I need the money for getting my equipment ;P

- the flare is stopped from dead enemys or shown items, which are not move- and lootable when hovering over them , while the path is showing no interrupption?!
-- friendly characters don't interrupt the flare?!
-- the teleportion spell also can't teleport in the shown range on those unmoveable items

- each fight with the legionnaires in the first beach get's you 325 xp/kill that's no 10%-bonus for "quck witted"-skill!

- in conversation with the bridge watch legionaires while speaking to one only the active player can trade with him, but the scrollbar (arrows left and right) is shown in the tradewindow near the characterportrait but not working so they should not be visible or greyed out

- in leveling up the stat-windows while hovering over entry's (e.g. vitality and action points) are not updated correctly as long as the stats are not confirmed upgraded. e.g. unconfirmed increasing speed or constitution or perception etc

- no attitude change of
-- attacked characters (legionaires) attitude stays on 0
-- attacked civilist in cyseal are getting -5 for first attack
-- helped turning out the ship on fire => attitude of all helpers stays on 0 while saying thanks for the help

thats' all for now

the game feels smoother than before and the feeling is getting better (environmental changes with more bushes and grass and trees etc)

So far, I encountered almost all of the bugs encountered by Stabbey:

- 'Trophy Unlocked' message when starting a new game or quickloading.
- Talking to Ismashell gave me 4675 XP for no reason.
- Legionnaire on the beach doesn't run back to the bridge guards but instead delivers his dialogue next to an orc corpse. Also, one of his lines says 'bretheren' instead of brethren.
- No idea what Bodybuilding is supposed to do.

In addition:

- New games still take a long time to load.
- You still can't switch between inventories by clicking on character portraits.
- Not so sure about the new look of the inventory, it's a little drab. Parts of the AP tooltip are also hard to read due to the white background of the stats.
- The Reflexes skill is still available during character creation but is not in the actual game.
- It is not clear to me how the Loremaster skill is supposed to work. I was seemingly unable to identify an item I had picked up despite having the requisite skill level.
- The Indestructible talent still doesn't show up in the Armor Rating modifier list.
- Sergeant Curtius says something along the line of "the storinghouse is the most important building in the realm by my and other's estimation". I don't think 'storinghouse' is an actual word, and the apostrophe should be at the end of the word others (others').
- You can still access the bookcase above Evelyn's desk from outside the house.
- Evelyn walked through Bruno's bed on her way to heal him.
- After the healing stone scene, Thelyron will still tell you Evelyn is 'in the other room as we speak' even if she's standing right next to him.
- Encountered a major trading bug: after buying a skill book from the arrow seller with my ranger, I decided to transfer the remaining money back to my fighter. This prompted the arrow seller to accuse me of theft. I lost all of my money and my skill book. On top of that, my fighter's inventory tooltips didn't work anymore or started flickering.
I quickloaded a few times and it seems that it only happens if you give the money by dragging it on top of the other character's portrait.

My survivor used the Rain scroll on the burning ship at the beginning of the game and it did not go out. I did not center it on the ship (used it on the sea behind the ship) although the rain was completely covering it.

Some pros so far

- New character sheet graphics are nice.
- I actually found a bone in a pile of bones. Great !!!
- I like the Action points explanations.
- I like the bleeding effect I received, although it didn't last long. I must have succeeded a resistance check, but no feedback.
- Map markers after speaking really make navigating in the quest easier. Its really minimal, but better than nothing.
- Wet icon seems a littls big. wet effect was nice.
- Deer running away in a nice "natural" way.

Some cons/issues
- There is a chair that hides part of a character at character creation.
- What is "WarriorLore" in way of the warrior ?
- I can still see Inside houses
- I found Silver ore in a basket
- I can pick up crates, but not sacks (in the mill)...
- I still need back up, beacause a Warrior and knight cannot defeat a zombie pack.
- Still no world interactions.
- What does "dinner" do ? Lasts for 3 rounds only ?
- 1 Ability point only when leveling up ? Making the things worse.


Character creations and improvements/leveling are still a failure. They are a big feature in a RPG. You are missing the point. Definitely.
World interactions are inexistant still. Hopefully it will get better when we can explore more of Cyseal. But a few random herbs and shrooms in the woods wouldn't hurt.

-I cannot seem to be able to grab anything. I managed to move a chest once, but only once. Whenever I click on something to drag it elsewhere I always end up just walking around. Very frustrating and gamebreaking bug.

-As reported in another thread, Loremaster is completely broken. I cannot identify anything even though I meet it's requirements.

Will report more as I find them, but that first bug has taken the wind from my sails as far as playing further as it also affects environmental objects I have to maneuver (i.e.- levers). frown

I never noticed a problem with moving items until you mentioned it, but was able to reproduce what you described. If you click and hold an item it unselects after a quarter second. However, if you click and move right away, you should be able to drag items around. Try clicking as the mouse is slowly moving across a chest, for example.

In the market the potion seller has an 'Identifying Glass' needed to identify equipment.

Bug:
started a fight with two drunken legionaries on the bridge and Scarlet died in it. After that i got a ! on Roderik. I had to resurrect Scarlet but i could not initiate a dialogue with her and neither with any other NPC - default action when i went over char/NPC was attack and also it didn't matter what char i used Scarlet or Roderick. Saving and reloading solved that issue but still i though it would be worth mentioning.

Another thing -i send a fireball from afar (didn engage in combat) on these two soldiers and one died - not instantly but after taking burning damage. He didn't give me any XP. Also both soldiers just stood there - AI need to react to this and engage into combat right away. After some time i killed the other soldier from afar as well with flare and this time i got XP.

Other observations:

-i like that there is no more big graves for dead creatures-that totally broke immersion.

-more ambient sound are needed - dogs barking, chickens, birds, iron pounding, waves splashing, wind, people chatting/shouting smt (like in BG), armor clinking when walking etc. and these sounds must resonate for example i set ambient sound to 100 and music to 10 and still i didnt get feeling that something is going on around (in that first town).

-camera jumping left and right when fighting/walking over hills or other elevations. Its very annoying. U can try it on this on beach where orcs land.

-town under siege needs a bit more gloomy shading - i know its too soon for this but still dont forget that.

-i like new combat - very well though - no more mana and stuff- very neat

-where are famous broken bottles, piles of garbage/rags and other "items" that littered the streets, dungeons and sewers of Divine Divinity - these items are badly needed here now.

-some pickable items like shells dont highlight when u press ALT.

-in character creations window (i know its all a placeholder but still) faces are very unrecognizable - for some female ones it looks as if they have mustache laugh. I suggest u make some sort of zoom to see them up close

-mage robes need to be fixed/made properly as much as i like them they still need much improvement.

-as Bittereinder mentioned u press I for invetory of selected character but if u select another char (click on his icon on the left) it doesnt switches to his inventory which is very common use of inventory in pretty much all party based games.

Good work so far, i like what i see but its very important to make player feel at home in word u make. For observations on combat i will need to spend more time on it.

Thank you for that response. Will try out the moving thing and let you know. As for the "Identifying Glass", while I can appreciate having to use an item to identify with, I have two gripes involving that:

1. If a character starts the game with Loremaster already at a rank (i.e.- Survivor), then I feel this item should be a part of their inventory.

2. Giving players some heads up on this fact would be very much appreciated. wink

Since last update game keeps crashing whenever I try to open the journal, no matter the means (hotkey, minimap icon, open map then click on journal...); reproduced in 2 different pcs.

-Game crashed after smashing open the locked door next to Esmeralda's shop. I was then unable to launch the game until I reinstalled.

-Inventory icons turn black when I hover my mouse over them. Also skill icons in the K screen are black. Screens:

I picked Fire for the observatory room with the imp....went there and my machine slowed to a crawl and froze.Tried this multiple times with different graphic settings and got the same results

Crashes:

- Crashed when I made Scarlett to join back to the party in the Kings Crab Cellar than clicking on the cellar (with Scarlett) to go back to the Kings crab Inn it crashed. Also another known issue maybe caused the background noise of the Inn (talking) is still playing when going into the cellar. Using another party member to go back up to the Inn will not crash.

- Crashed when going back down stairs in Esmeralda House.

Optimization Stability Issue: (I know the game still need to be optimized when closing to release, though this optimize bug need to be reported).

Edit: I keep testing this serious bug and it seems this is constant stability issue (10 FPS anf lower) where ever you go when you have entered Evelyn's house. Made a thread here: http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=483871#Post483871

I went down into the tunnel under the cemetery and Scarlett set one Undead Swordsman afire (status burning) with flare. After that Roderick could not shoot him anymore with a crossbow - the cursor did not change into the bow-attack symbol when hovering over this swordsman but rather only showed the walk-to circle on the ground next to the undead swordsman.

The game seems to crash a lot in this new version for me. Once after I talked to Mendius at the King Crab Inn and another after clicking on the journal.

Should I start a new game instead of loading an old one?

Okay, further investigation into moving objects yielded this result:

Since the update, moving objects has become frustrating as hell. I basically have to move my mouse over an object, click immediately, and drag to move an object. That doesn't ensure I've grabbed the object however and ends up only working 1 out of 3 times. Extremely frustrating and totally makes playing a test in patience and not fun at all. Please look into this. I will send a note to Larian support on this matter. It's ruined the game for me.

On a more uplifting note, however, I was ecstatic that the journal correctly filtered completed quests and kept them filtered. And the timestamp is a nice touch as well. Also digging the new look for the UI. Very sharp.

Please look into the interaction problem though. I can't stress enough how much that ruins my experience.

Also, I would like to note that I am still having problems with single click movement. It's been that way for the last three updates. When I first started the alpha, setting my graphics to Medium or less helped a little. Since the first update I have been getting the same response no matter what my settings. It did improve some, but not completely and it hasn't changed over the last few updates. Basically, I click on the ground and a good 1 out of 3 times my character will make like they're going to move but not. And the camera will always center on my character, making scrolling ahead to target an area not a very conductive use of my time.
