Imagine this: In the heat of the battle you tragicly lose your life <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> and your last safe is a couple of hour old and you had just found that one weapon that completes your set. Now <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> theire is nothing that you can do. I would like to see that changed in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/riftrunner.gif" alt="" />. What I am saying is you should be able to get back to life, but not for free theire must be a penalty (loss of items, skillpoint, exp, level , reputation...). Sure it wouldn't be used much but it can help some crying moments. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

What do you guys think <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/question.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

NO! NO! NO! NO!
No respawning. Simply NOOO!
I say, if there will be respawning, I am not buying the game no matter the rest. I hate respawning, no matter of the games quality/type.

Youre probably wright. Maybe some sort of automated saving that saves every 10 minutes, I'll call it autosave.

Jack looks down 2 thread and says DOH <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

As i said, is better you have a chance of be ressurrected using a rare weapon than you don't have any chance. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

yes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> you can get your life back, but for a hefty penalty.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

it will cost you the last two hours of your game,
AND <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> that special item you've found...
....it's called reload, latest save!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

No Jurak, this is just for Divinity, maybe now to found rare itens they don't use the same system of Divinity, cause everybody can get a Dragon Armor Set for example, maybe could be like Diablo2, when you ask: How i get the grandfather sword? Kill, kill, kill and kill, you don't have a specific place to get a weapon, and if have is like divinity with random stats.

One thing what i disliked in Divinity is this, everybody can get the most rare itens, with luck or not, even if these itens have random stats, this don't help much, you'll always find the dragon glooves on a determined place, you'll always have chance to get it.

I think something more random with porcentage to found itens, would be better.

This for me is a bad point in the game, cause when you start a new game you'll always get the same itens just with random stats. Sometimes somebody found a test iten, like the Razortail bow, and the sword what a guy mentioned another day, but the rest is always the same weapons.

I agree that an auto-save could be helpful but technically speaking it could be disastrous in the middle of a slash and hack battle. There is no guarantee on when the timer resets.

The Larian game-engine keeps track of story development in story.000 and story.001, which may be the answer to the problem.

The death of the hero should trigger a special event that pops up a story history window from which you may pick a point back in the past to restore your game. Those history points are chosen by the game engine regarding the hero coordinates being inside predefined safe zones and considering the gained achievements as well. Therefore, you would see a list of time stamps {Osiris_Type} with a comment that includes the name of the place and your last achievement there.

I know it can be done but it may not be implemented in RR because it is a fundamental programming change that might consume valuable time for a sooner release.
Cheers.

What about 2 autosaves? You realy have to be an idiot to screw 2 saves up.

Jack looks at himself

Better make it 3

The number of saves makes no difference Jack, it is whether the very first one was allowed to complete or not before the application is terminated. <wink> <wink> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shhh.gif" alt="" />

Yes, indeed, I myself did this trick before many times and guess what it works perfectly.
