French fries... in germany we call it "Pommes frites", the only words every german could speak in french

Usually we eat it with salt and ketchup or mayo.

Hmm, to mix it with sweet things, i have to try it.

What would the experts advise for an first try? With Honey?

@lynn: it's like strawberries with pepper. If you haven't tried it, you don't like them

Yes indeed If I try to eat french fries with something sweet, honey for instance, Greeks will start to throw me things. Heavy things

With "Ranch" dressing is pretty good. Im not sure what the ranch thing is all about, Its kind like mayo but with a smokey flavour. I blame Paul Newman

This is pretty late but I'll post why french fries are called french fries
(Learned it last year at school).

About 150-200 years ago the Belgian Fishermen couldn't fish in the winter so they made out of potatoes fishlike potatoes and they baked it, and they liked it, so they began to make them in all kind of shapes.

And then the Frenchmen came and tasted the fries and they liked it to.
But they imported it first to England, so that the Englishmen thought(I don't know how to write it) the Frenchmen were the ones who made them and called them french fries.

And that's the story.
