Was it ever discussed here or anywhere why right-clicking on an open inventory window (Like a barrel or chest) doesn't close it? It's a very common feature in the more popular RPG games similar to Divinity, and it's extremely convenient.

I don't think there's a reason to right-click on any items in the barrel or chest itself, as of right now, so it's not like it was disabled to ensure no mis-clicks occur.

I think you can close them by right clicking on the top part of the barrel/chest window.

Yes, right clicking anywhere on the UI closes containers. Right clicking the inventory slots does not (presumably to avoid issues with miss-clicks in the inventory, and keep the player and container inventory slots consistent).
