No, it's not comparable. It's ways faster:

The same way as the kernel is much faster than Windows one:

Man...I see all these features being added and I can't even play the game. Swen mentioned it in the last video, but I can't see what would take so long. It's hard to truly believe a lot of effort is being put into this. Honestly, I wouldn't care anymore, but I like their development philosophy in general. Part of me thinks that they have lost all my future business, but part of me wants them to redeem themselves with a good Linux release.

On a separate note...Please ignore waltc. The level of FUD, ignorance and blatant naivety is incredible. I expect people to not talk about things they have no idea about. The guy is telling us that we shouldn't expect games _because_ we are on linux. He implies the Linux gaming experience is worse and has not even tried it. Why is this clown even talking on this thread that clearly is none of his business?

I second the desire for linux. Currently the only reason I boot into windows is to play this game.

Keep in mind, primary development is still focused on adding new content and bug-fixing for the Windows and Mac releases. Development is likely already ongoing for a Linux release, but it's a back burner issue and almost certainly will not be a priority until development slows down for the already released versions.

The Linux version is delayed, but it's being worked on: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larianstudios/divinity-original-sin/posts/1034753

ETA is in the beginning of 2015.

So, were there any updates from Larian about the Linux version? It's been quite a while.

No, there has been nothing new in the last 3 weeks. The Linux version of the engine is being updated with the current changes to the game, some of which are still a work in progress.
