No matter what I do I get my butt kicked! I'm a level 10 warrior, trying currently to do the yarun assasin thing in the cellar, but no matter what I do ... well you know the rest. I had to abandon the church thing... same reason... abbey... same reason ... lizards in the sewer ... hey you know the story. Should I be getting better weapons? From where other than Geoff? Are there some gentle ...erm... intelligence based quests that will up my XP and thus my strength?? What do I do? I also need to level up and get that lockpick thing under control so I can do the thief thing. But Im going nowhere fast. HELP!!!

Hello genni! Welcome to the Forum!
All that I can really tell you is that you need to do other quests before attempting to do the one you keep getting killed on. Try something a little easier to get your XP up before attempting that specific one! If you haven't done them yet, try to quests given by general alix and captain mitox with the orcs. Most orcs are easier to kill than the baddies in the sewers and abbey!

Hi Haven't played as a warrior yet - managing to do quite well with hit & run tactics using magic and/or bow - so until some of the more experienced guys & gals can give some helpful tips, try a search for ARIC'S WARRIOR GUIDE (sorry, but I don't know how to put it in as a link, not one that works, anyway). (and a big to those who put together these guides - brilliant work & a terrific help!!!).
Also, as demonhunter says, try some other quests first & build up your level - have you spoken to Marcus in Ars Magicana yet? Also in the farmland areas you'll find some easier quests - just make sure you talk to everybody!

Welcome to the forum, genni. May you find your visit here most enjoyable in the name of Ruben Faerol and the Good Gods of the seven races.
Seeing as you are level 10 you probably didn't journey much throughout the Aleroth/Rivertown area. If you haven't done that yet go talk to the farmers in the farmlands and get a few quests (like delivering letters for instance, that's a no risk experience) You might running around the Rivertown area without accepting any quests worthwhile as well - you could exterminate some Orcs that the area is swarming with. Though that does rarely bring much excitement it does allow you to level-up well (try killing the less exp. profiting monsters first - as time passes you will get less points for them and eventually might stop getting any.)
And as for the weapons - you encounter randomly generated equipment mostly so it might take a while before you find something that fits your taste and the size of your enemies throats, and on the other hand, with a stroke of luck you might find a true death bringer pretty early on (as I did) but the common rule is such: the higher your level, the better weapons you get...
PS. Combat hint: When fighting a slow moving ,though lethal in close contact, enemy try using the bow it works surprisingly well as none of your enemies can run - all of them only walk.
Uff, I hope you were able to get through all that text. I'm sorry but I'm sometimes a real chatterbox.

Thanks Kiya, although I'm sure Demonhunter appreciates the info as well .
I can put in a link as an http address (as per your example), what I haven't figured out is how to show the link as a title, as you have at the start of your message (ie Aric's Warrior guide, click here please). Or to word it another way, I can have it show as a link, just not to work as a link.
Sorry if I'm being overly obtuse, but it's really annoying me that I can't get it to work.
ps. I'm probably not posting this in the right place, am I?

Thanks Raze, finally got it! I wasn't including the address within the brackets (don't ask what I was putting there ).
And apologies to Kiya - you explained it very well - its just that I didn't read it right! I guess sometimes I just have to be hit - several times - for anything to sink in!! .
Thanks again.

Nope, Frogking, I read your question and realised, I had been too tired and forgot 50% I added it then. You read correctly, I made an error - I apologise. Kiya

No need to apologize Kiya - really, what you had posted was enough to figure it out, I was just too thickheaded to see it! Muskrat, just read through the examples carefully, it'll eventually make sense. (after all, if I can do it, anyone can!!) And welcome Cheers all, have a drink on me .

Juest wondering, How do you enable the smileys from f.ex Smiley Central? I guess it has something to do with the settings, but haven't figured how. Thanks,

Hi and welcome to the forum Do not worry because you die so fast. It is because those quests you try to solve are for later on. At least they will be easier later on. At first try to clean up the area around Aleroth. You gain experience and some good stuff. Then you can go to the bridge and the farmlands. There you will meet a knight who will need your help. A simple quest which will give you some more exp. and reputation. Also talk to Homer in the framlands and deal with the Trolls. Easy enemies. Then you could go to the barracks and meet Gen Alix. Her quest is simple. Also simple is the fisrt quest of Mitox. To blow the wagon of the orcs. Those quests are the best to start of and by the end of them you will be more experienced for the church and the abbey. Make a try with those. Also if you find any snakes bees or other wild animals in your way, kill them. You will earn some more exp. Be careful though. Do not kill other animals like cats, because wherever you go all the cats will be hostile towards you. You can also buy things from arcs magicana, and you will find there almost everything you need. You can also invest 2 points to alchemy skil. If you do that you will be able with one move to make healing portions form the mushrooms you see all over the place. Good luck
