I admit i haven't looked much into DD2, but i not sure if this is theory is correct. If these two people are link in soul/body, then won't each other traits rub onto each other OR end up thinking as one? Or even to the stage lossing their own idenity where they not sure WHO they are?
Yes i should READ more posts but theres about 6k of topics lol and not much time to read them all.
Also a very posiability (spelt wrong i know) of classic style "final battle" where hero will fight the chaos knight, it expected and wanted like such as ignus vs namelessone in planescape: torment. Give the fans what they want so to speak.

or like demon eyes kyo versus kyoshiro in samurai deeper kyo....
the storyline u referred is that of riftrunner, not DD2. DD2 is still too far ahead right now .....
still, not problem thinking up of stories that MAY end up being in the upcoming games.

They are soul forged, as such one can not exist without the other. They can't be separated too much from eachother and when the one dies so does the other. That will keep them fighting together and not eachother.
The question is a valid one though. The assumption can be made that in the end the soul forge wil be separated. What happens then? Maybe they become friends and live happily ever after

Still browsing the forums i could not find a topic, my new question is if a chaos knight or fiend is evil he should have resistance to chaotic spells. or even stronger resist to evil monsters or spells such as fear, charm (control player/npc) etc. Or chaos feeds from it (nah). The flaw of this idea is it may unbalance the two characters unless altered, such as chaos more melee and little magical abilities while slower in delay in hits while Hero is faster and more opposite. yinyang style i think i am saying.

He is a party member and you have full control over him. He probably can have skills like you and as such you might be able to give him any skill you want. If so then the only difference lies in the stats. They might be different from yours and the maths behind them might be different also.

I imagine that the two characters will have individual skill paths. There would be some cross over (eg. Weapon Expertise), but I reckon that one will have "good" spells and the other "evil" spells. Also, you'll be able to play as an evil character now. You'll probably have to do some balancing with the good/evil-doing so that both characters can rise through the levels.
I really don't know how it's going to work, this is just how I envision it.

& u know what might be the killer/bummer of the game?
all that levelling up for both characters & in the end game where both are separated, the goodie will have 2 fight the baddie.
or maybe with a weird twist; the baddie after adventuring with the goodie, sees the good side of things & converted 2 a goodie while the goodie is silently corrupted by the evil arua emanating from the baddie, turning him into one.
ok, it's stoopid.
