not in the beginning of the game. but l8er you will encounter him again, and there will be a quest related.

well, I must say that i never completed the quest myself.

i think it will be fairly easy.
he kidnapped a woman, who he wants to take to his grave, and suddenly all kinds of ghouls attack you.
but they are weak.
after them you should kill jake i guess.
but i had stopped after killing all the other ones..

The quest is indeed easy and a good source of XP's.

Thief, you have to kill him 3 times if you wish.
2 times in Aleroth
1 in the cemetary /poor quarters.

I found him hard to kill at the beginníng (Aleroth), later on not, but if you kill him in the poor quarters first, you'll miss the other kills, the earlier ones. He's good for XP.

I wouldn't kill him in Aleroth, he's just too powerful for that level.

As long as you don't encounter him in the poor quarters cemetary it's ok. You can take your time, gain levels and tackle him later. But if you go to this cemetary this before attacking him in Aleroth, he won't turn up again in Aleroth = miss killing XP pts.

I first cleared the catacombe and the surrounding of Aeloroth. Then I was strong enough to kill him

There's a way to kill Jake at low levels. But only the one that comes out of the grave when you put his wife's flowers on it. Just prepare to run like crazy.
When he activates, run towards Joram's house. Joram will come out and shoot fireballs at him. Make sure you keep him active so he doesn't attack Joram. If Joram kills him then you don't get the exp. After he has like 1 small line of life left, quickly run away from Joram so that Joram doesn't kill it.
Then kill it yourself. You'll probly level up immediately!

Get a bow. Jake is slower then a one legged drunk dwarf trying to walk straight.

i killed him with my lvl 1 mage, got immidiately +2 levels. I used meteorstrike.

Where do you encounter him in Aloeroth

Jake will appear in the small graveyard in the north of Aleroth if you move the flowers from his wife's grave to his own. You can also find him in the cellar of the house just south of the graveyard. These two you can do in either order, but once you kill him in the graveyard by the poor quarters, he is gone for good, and will not re-appear in Aleroth.
