Gamespot is the 832th most visited site on the web (roughly). This makes it the second largest gaming-reviewing website, behind IGN.com. There are even more people that visit Gamespot than those who visit Metacritic (and Metacritic isn't even entirely gaming reviews). By the way, those IGN guys give Divinity: Original Sin a 9 out of 10, calling the game "amazing" and "one of the most rewarding RPGs in years."
On the one hand, being immensely popular isn't synonymous with being good. If you believe those websites are crap, I can't disprove that. All I'm saying is that lots and lots of people are going to be exposed to extremely positive reviews of this game.
But on the other hand, as Shawn Carter says: numbers don't lie; check the scoreboard.
