Hey y'all.

I'm running a P450 312 meg RAM DIAMOND V770 32meg graphics card in 32 bit color depth on an FAT32 system with a non-partitioned HD.

I've installed all of the official patches that are on this site and the Gamespot site.

My problem is that I am a lev 5 Survivor and am trying to use the composite bow. I have Rogue's gloves and my AGility is 20. I put all 5 statistic points into Agility to use the Bow. I have 25 Agility.

However, about ten seconds later, after closing the statistics screen, mybow disappears and my agility is down to 24.

What gives?

Most likely you put off an item that gives you +1 to your agility. (Probably the weapon you were using before)

It could also be that you ate something that temporary boosted your agility.
No need to worry there is no bug which makes your agility points dissapear!

Just fight a bit to gain a nother level!

You only need to install the latest (v1.34) patch; it contains all the previous fixes.

If you wait long enough for any food/potion/spell effects to wear off and remove all equipment with stat bonuses (or make sure to take them into account), then the sum of

strength + agility + intelligence + constitution + any unassigned stat points

should be equal to

40 + 5*(Character Level) [color:"#304154"]+ (+5 or -5 bonus from Shrine of Good and Evil) + (+5 or +10 stat bonus from Wishing Well, if that was the wish you made) - (1 to 4 stolen by vampire in the dark cave if you saved the boy) + (+20 from the agility bonus of Finnigan's magic lockpick, if it is in your inventory)[/color]

There are other stat modifiers (highlight the spoiler text above to read), though none you should have run into at level 5.

Wow.. someone else..

I had this exact problem.. my agility should be 35 but its 34.. and given that i put 25 pts into it, this should be impossible. I think it is a bug and that its linked to eating food, something along the lines of... Eat food gain in agility, upgrade agility after lvling, food bonus times out and removes the bonus thus you end up with 34 agility instead of 35.

ie you have 30 agility, +1 from the food, but when you add the 5 pts you only have 35 agility not 36. Then the +1 times out and you have 34. I have had this exact problem when trying to use a morning star which required 35 agility.

I havent thought to check on this but it would be important to check that upgrading your starts does not overwrite the bonus from the food.

"my agility should be 35 but its 34.. and given that i put 25 pts into it, this should be impossible."

Actually, there is a vampire (in the dark cave) which can permanently steal 1 to 4 stat points (though there are other bonuses which more than make up for that).
I don't know if alcohol or something else can temporarily drop agility.

If it really is a bug, you can use iZakaroN's SaveEditor to correct it.

Is it just me or are the wines and ale's not really worth consuming?

I'm also having a slight problem with stat bonuses disappearing. So far I am positive I've lost two strength points and two agility points, but with the constant reloading I did last night, how would I know for sure?

The only food I kept / ate was meat, bread and chicken.

"how would I know for sure?"

Use the formula in my first post in this topic to calculate what you should have.
