Am a mage with bow skills and strong summon skills. Fighting her the first time (apparantly). I killed all the dwarves by staying to the south and summoning walls of steel skeletons and dreadknights. I left her, solved a couple quests and went up a level (36). I haven't learned a new skill yet as I'm trying to figure out the best one. Currently have Hellspikes 1, Freeze 4 (you guys mentioned these). I have a helmet with +1 Hellspikes (just have to quaff a potion to be strong enough to use it. So what do you think? Go for Freeze 5 or Hellspikes 3? What's her resistances like - anyone know? Or something else maybe? She's schooled me everytime so far. First enemy able to accomplish that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Survivor's Curse a few time will drop her resistances (even at level 1) and make elemental attacks much more effective. Blind would be handy to get a preemptive strike in. Alternately, drink a shadow potion when she blinds you to wait it out, and switch to area effect skills that do not need a target, such as Hell Spikes or Elemental Hail.

As for strength potions, if you drink a lot of them, you can do a lot of melee damage (as long as you can hit her). josie, part 749

Mage spell books can be bought, so you could try to find some of these that way.

Since you are a mage so you cant really drink strength potion and
hit Josephine, what I do is, as soon as I reach the room, I summon wall
skeleton and steel scorpion, then immediately I climb up the ladder again
leaving my fighters to kill for me. Then, I go down again, continue to
summon more --> dead knights. Steel scorpion really works here! Summon a few
of them would be more than enough.

this has to be one of the most common questions asked. try a quick search and you will find many differant opinions. i think the most common response is to use a weapon with freeze.

I don't know...gurl did not have any problem with that witch.
Icey frost sword and Elemental Hail had her begging for mercy.
None was given.
