Brandon is the only key to prevent Rot from Tenebrium items.

A simply "we'll talk about this later" option causes epic punishments:
"The Troll's Bounty" quest never started.
Unable to finish "The Naked Truth" quest.
Blocking tenebrium ability.
Blocking achievements: You Keep Me Rockin and Truth Be Told

Should players deserve such severe consequences with accidently clicked "we'll talk about this later" option,
which should be rewrited as never?

The Troll's Bounty should be a main quest.

in current state of the game, Closing the Rift should be available only to those who finish the Troll's Bounty quest.

There is a reusable Tenebrium book that can be found in Luculla Forest.
Immaculate Village, at Attenberah
So you are still able to wield Tenebrium weapons even if you do not accept the quest.

The quest therefore is not mandatory, whether or not the "end dialog" option should be changed is up to design.

that book is even worse, there's no quest leading to that book; we just stumble upon it; if not thoroughly click through the place, it'd easily be missed.

Troll's Bounty is side quest, this book is sorta hidden treasure, neither is part of main quest; but Closing the rift is mandatory (since full memory restore ties to it?), this is a very bad game narrative design.
of course if this is Larian's style (like their obsession with button hunts), then there's nothing to fix~

The book's reusable? I could have sworn it disappeared for me when I used it with Scarlet...

Anyway, while it's ok that Brandon is an optional side-quest, imho, it would still be nice if he worked reliably ( wink ), which doesn't seem to be the case for everyone.
Placing one or two hints (they don't need to be too obvious) for the book in the village might be a good idea, too.

The book disappeared once one character uses it, so only one could learn the tenebrium skill.

Unlike Fabulous Five, comes with serious decision-making options, rejecting Mendinus still makes the quest appear.
Say "later" to Brandon, then The Troll's Bounty will be never showed in quest journal.

Even if Brandon has attitude 100, nothing can make him offer his retirement plan again, just because someone said "talk about it later" to him.
IMHO, later =\= never, later =\= reject. This whole crap just don't make sense.

In comparison with "we'll talk about this later", there're much more malicious/injustice/immoral/evil decisions and options in the game.
Only this shtty misleading "talk later" leads to such severe consequences, simply bad design.

GG Larian created this Brandon crap to punish players who may accidently believe your "later" lies, which ruins everything. frown
