Is there anywhere to get hold of the music out of DD. I know theres some for download, the tension stuff, but I'm after the seamless intergrated music?

Thanks in advance.

Try this music extractor

It extracts music and encodes them to OGGs. Playable by winamp (atleast...)

Actually, I've burnt most of the ogg files from Divinity onto two audio CDs, including some from the downloadable mp3s and a couple off Kirill Pokrovsky's site. There have been quite a few requests for a way to listen to the music outside of the game.

Actually, that's how I acquired my bizare taste in music. Some games have amazing music which really add to the atmosphere. But each to their own...

Not to mention Kirill won the IGN award for "Outstanding Achievment In Music Award"!
Luckily for us, he is also doing the music in .

I do. Sometimes I just open Deus Ex and left it to menu, so I could here the music... Also Baldur's gate series has awesome musics. And in morrowind I sometimes just walked top of the hill, watched sea and listened to music...

Games and movies usually have an quite awesome soundtracks. Oh, and let's not forgot trailers...

Yet again ill bring up tibia. I extracted the dd music and played them when playing tibia. Tibia has no sounds at all. And listning to foo fighters/tenacious d/darkness doesnt give the right atmosphere. But dd does :P

Well I don't think you've ever listened to the music of Zanzarah. If so, I will forgive you.

I like good music and good games. As for my gaming skills; we can pick a few games and thrash it out online if you like, and see if I'm a real gamer elreno.

I don't think anyone sets out to buy a game just for its music, but I usually end up downloading the music of most games. Some of them, (Morrowind comes to mind, as well as ) whose atmosphere is enhanced by the music. Also, since I write for a living, the kind of music found in these games adds to my creativity.

I think avid gamers like myself will say they enjoy all aspects of the gaming experience and music is a huge part of that.

Does anyone know why they don't sell game OST cd's in Europe? I know they sell 'em in the States - why would there be more interest for them in the States than here?

Music is imho the most important thing in a game. I cannot stand games with repetitive boring music that stuck in my head afterwards and ruins my day.

Morrowind´s music made me want to cry. I was singing the melody for months. I still like it. Music in games is crucial because it contributes to the atmosphere (I don’t want to exaggerate and write that music IS the atmosphere. It would be unfair to the graphics after all). And the gamer without noticing it during the game play feels different things by music. Like agony, joy or fear.

Al thnx for the link. Zanzarah´s music is one of my fav.
