Ok, I've been playing Divine Divinity since the beginning of last year, ..off and on... and at one time both my husband and I were playing it at the same time so we used the no-cd patch so we'd stop fighting over who's computer got the cd in it at one time.

Now I'm at the scene where the 6 council members are killed and I have the common issue that at the end where it's supposed to go to the dead land or whatever...it sets me in a black area. Ok, so I hear I'm supposed to use the cd in the cd drive. I found the game cd, but don't know if that's the right one. Is there more than one cd? I forget. I tried to get past with the game cd in the drive but same result. Is there a way to remove the no-cd patch so I can get it to work with the cd? If I did backup the original div.exe file I can't find it. I thought of saving my save games and reinstalling but I can't find the install disk which must exist because the game cd doesn't seem to have a install program on it. I figure my husband has it in his stuff somewhere because it's not in mine and I found the game cd on his computer case. He won't get off his butt to help me find it and won't let me go through his piles of cds looking for it.

Can anyone pass on the old exe file to me, or tell me how to remove the no-cd patch so I can get to the end of the game? I'm so close I can taste it and this really sucks.

thanks in advance,
QueenVamp

there are 3 cds. its the one that says "game disc" on it. i dont beleive that you have to remove the no-cd hack. the right disc should do it.

It probably depends on the hack. Is the .exe file on the CD? Perhaps just copying that over will help? Or try copying the .exe from the v1.34 patch?

Hi,

The only right way to do this is:
Normally
1. apply all patches
2. copy div.exe to original_div.exe
3. apply No-Cd hack
Then you just have to switch div.exe's (rename) with the Game CD in and the video will play, after that, save, and you can switch it back and continue without CD.

In your case:
If you don't have the original div.exe...
If you have the install CD's (total of 3):
1. rename div.exe to No_CD_div.exe and save...
2. install game again (only way to get the exe/ savegames should be saved)
3. apply patches you have in your game
4. save this div.exe to original_div.exe
5. switch div.exe and insert game CD to play

without install CD's...
find someone who can mail you a div.exe file (1MB zipped)
you only need this file... and the game CD of course...

Hope this helps
