My personal all time record on expert lvl=120.
Since my reinstall=136.
The web says many many have broken 100 and the all time record I think is 51 IIRC. I think I could break 100 if I didn't play rpgs and focused on minesweeper. Free game on every Windows box, but a good one nonetheless.

I've never cleared the first level of minesweeper even on beginner with the box as small as possible.

Ah, well.

I have more important skills I can do, like washing dishes and vacuuming the living room carpet.

Unlocking the front door is still a bit tricky though. I hate backwards crap.

Jeez <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> My best time was just under 300 sec. And here I thought I was pretty good. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

I never quite understood how M. worked. So I never managed to "clean" a whole field - except own ones. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Basically to get faster scores you have to be able to recognize certain patterns and then click quickly without stopping to think about them. If you have to think and analyze, it slows you down too much. Also start in the center on expert and repeatedly click really fast until you either get a large block of possibilities or lose. You must be willing to lose a lot if you want fast scores, because you are not taking the time to carefully weigh all possibilities. And of course you have to spend a lot of time at the game. When I am on hold on the telephone or running a virus scan, etc. I play. Also lately I have been having problems with running RPGs, and so have played minesweeper when I get too frustrated. I think I finally solved my problem though--a driver for a joystick port (No. I don't use a joystick.) which didn't get properly installed when I reinstalled the OS a few weeks ago. But now I have the minesweeper itch, so last night I shut down NWN and played minesweeper for a couple of hours. The right music can help too. Fast music seems to help me get into a fast clicking groove. And of course you need a good mouse. A wheel mouse doesn't quite do it.

Of course. But what would be the point of that unless you were in a competition to win a new coffee pot or a toaster. I mean the fun of playing is to beat your own times. You can find the cheat posted at least one of the minesweeper sites if you have to have it.

Hey Spick, 76 sec and 257 are not fast. And you could get lucky on beginner. My beginner time is 11 seconds, but I don't do it that much. My intermediate at present is 63 seconds; I don't remember what it was before the reinstall. Visit a minesweeper website and the times posted there will amaze you.
