Hi,

I was at the well of wishing, (too bad about not having the traditional three wishes) when I ventured south and headed towards the orc camps. I came near the little tent camp where there are some dead people lying on the ground and two chests as well.

I started to clear it out and decided to go back to the portal stone that brought me near the well, so I turned into a frog and headed north.

As I approached the hill to go up into the higher ground, I saw two orcs. I turned into a human and targeted the orc and it was too late for me to stop from hitting him. As I hit him he said please help me and at the same moment I killed him. My rep went down 5 points.

I reloaded and now I can't seem to find the orc that needed help and lowers reputation if you kill him, anywhere.

If you have any information about this, please feel free to help inform a confused person such as me.

Thanks,

Pystal

Pystal, I never heard of this...
perhaps a bug, or a feature of the game I do not know.

Raze?

Thanks for the reply.

I didn't mean to kill the orc. I was just clicking like mad trying to turn back into a human and I accidentally hit the orc. There was a speech screen that came up and the orc said something to the effect of please help me.

After I hit the x in the lower left side of the screen to close the dialog, he died and I lost 5 points of reputaion.

Really strange. I wonder what the orc wanted me to help him with. Now I am going to go crazy thinking of what type of a quest I may have missed because of my haste.

Oh well, if you find out anything more on this, please keep me informed.

Thanks for your time,

Pystal

Was he one of those giant orcs? At one point you meet one who says he's a human who's been magicked to look like an orc and act as a spy. I always believed him and let him go on friendly terms, but I'm guessing he's the orc you killed.

Hmmmm...

I am not sure. He looked like a regular orc. He was dressed with the purple type armor and was the same size as most. If you mean did he look like one of the giant looking blue ones, then nope, that was not him. But maybe there was a buggy moment that made him appear to be a normal looking orc.

I reloaded and so he is not dead at the moment. I will let him go if this is the same orc that you mention. Maybe that human turned orc shows up in different areas? I wish I could repeat the encounter. Maybe he will show up eventually.

Thanks for helping me out. Have fun, I know I am

I did that once myself, testing a statuette I found. I re-loaded and returned to the same spot, but did not find any friendly orcs, and there were no green crosses on the mini-map
There is a very brief delay when switching back to human form, before alignments are adjusted. If you attack while transforming, the enemy can still be friendly, so your reputation drops.

This sounds more like the men by the broken wagon. I wonder if your graphics or NPCs have become corrupted?

I hope they are not corrupted. That would not be very fun. hehe

I think it was just a fluke. I have experienced other things as well.

I was given the ring from Velrat (sp) The guy you save with the healing stone.

I saved and reloaded with the screen open. When you save and the inventory screen is open, when you load a game it closes the screen up for you. Well I had the statistics OF the ring in clear veiw when I saved. After loading it though, the item needed to be identified again. Strange huh?

Oh well, maybe I will find a friendly orc in some other area.

Thanks for the info eveyone,

Oh, I am now in Verdistis (sp) and I am having a blast. I guess I need to be care ful here so that I don't mess any quest sequences up. I am addicted. I just wish I had more time to play this game.

A couple other people have also had that reaction from enemy NPCs when returning to human form and attacking all in one motion.

With most items, the properties are set once you run your cursor over them or hit alt. For items placed directly into your inventory, you need to move the item it set the properties. I got a very nice ring from Verlat, but decided to save and see what else I could get. After a few tries it was apparent I wasn't getting anything better, so re-loaded to find random stats in my first ring's save. It took awhile re-loading again, but I got something comparable to the first ring.

i know what orc youe talking about but he is not near the well. he is all the way south just east of the house with the thugs that have to kill and save those people. i always let him go too. seems like a nice enough guy...

I have been trying to reload item stats when I know something is rare. Like the saphire ring or most things that are always there in everyones game.

I have not reloaded on the random stuff because it almost ruins the game. I am already too powerful hehe. So I am just trying to take it as it comes.

I can become obsessed over certain item stats though. I am really having a lot of fun with this game. There are some really funny moments in the game. When I least expect it, something occurs out of the blue and makes me smile.

I love this about this game. I hope they continue to use this style of humor and fun in the next 2 games. I know that I am not even going to wait for a review before buying them. I am just going to get'em and enjoy them.

I am at a point in the game where I have rescued the assassin woman for Coronia (sp) so that I can get her book back. I ventured further into the thieves guild and found an entrance into the sewers. There was a map of the sewers as well. I am wondering if I should continue on in the sewer and finish it or wait until later to go down there.

Have fun,

Pystal

Try the sewers. If you die too much, come back later.

Sewers are now complete and most every quest in Verdistis is done as well. I am now on my way to the Dark Forest to get the branch and such. I hear there are some nice quests to complete there. once I finish the dark forest and all of the last remaining quests in Verdistis such as Corina, I am heading for the castle hehe.

Wish me luck.

You won't need luck. Your character is all powerful. You shall become the Divine One.
