As others have already pointed out, his voice does indeed sound pretty dead. However, I feel it kinda suits the character.

But I think it can still use a bit of improvement. Of course all lines have been recorded already, so there's no changing that; but there's no need for that either. His voice is okay, there's just something missing, something out-of-this-worldly. He's a creature from another plane after all...

Larian, can't you add some kind of echo or other effects to the recording so that the DK sounds a bit more Darth Vader-like? I think that would really help a lot!

Just my two cents.

Maybe they could digitally remake his voices by making them sound...i dunno how to explain this, but darker.

I was not impressed at all with the DeathKnights voice. Sounded like he was half asleep when reading his lines. I cant imagine anyone being "so calm" in that kind of situation. I would imagine a DeathKnight being "annoyed" all the time. Like dragon riders in the last game.

Don't forget the sound quality has probabally been lowered for the Demo.

HIGHLY doubt that.

Many agree. IGN forums stating the same.

the black knight voice over is terrible <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

I am sure the game itself is fine however

I plan on altering the death night's voice considerably by filtering it through various audio effects until I achieve the desired effect. First I have to figure out how to extract from these unknown file formats (new thread started...)

Reverb a bit. Lower the frequence. Add steel.

No amount of technical tweaking can fix the Death Knight's voice. It's terrible. He sounds like a statistics professor lecturing while wearing a metal pail on his head. Does this guy sound like a despicable evil entity that you don't want to be chained to? The voice acting ruins the sense of plot immersion. I feel no sense of urgency to free myself from this curse, since the Deathknight does not portray a sense of evil.

I don't mind it really, it could be better yes, but I'm content with how it is.

He does sound pretty bad though, so that alone might be reason enough to free yourself from the curse (of having to hear his voice).

ok here are my first examples of the altered (and hopefully improved) deathnight's voice:

Sounds better in my book. Just a little less echo.

Not in the mood for cheese?
That excuse has more holes than a slice this fine Gorgombert!

It's surely an improvement over the standard voice, nice work! If only there was a way to do this automatically to all of his sounds <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
(but the echo thingy sounds a bit too long)

thanks, I may do away with the echo entirely, depending on how it's received.
