I just started playing this game and just cured Mardaneus of his insanity. I was wondering though, it seems that my character is needed to perform other quests. There are still quite a few skeletons and the like left in the catacombs. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there is another level as well. Should I forget about that, or go back to it another time? Seems a shame to throw all of those XP away.

get as much exp as you can. Especially early in the game when even 1 skill level, or a couple of increased statistics can make you much more competative in combat.

i would have taken my time and killed all of the scorpions the first time. but for your sake, yes go back down and kill the rest of the skeletons. i think that you should get as much XP as you can just to make the game easier.

Yes, XP is a VERY good thing. Especially when you get lots from easy kills...like skeletons.

Whne you first leave Aleroth, orcs can be very hard to kill at level 4...do try to do everything - though all the skeletons etc that Mardaneous blew away will not be there.

You restore Mardaneus' sanity by clearing the catacombs. There is a room at the bottom with 3 skeletons trying to perform a ritual...

Actually, I was trying to finish something else first, but then forgot about Boratus. I'll check it tonight or tomorrow.

How the [nocando] did you get to the wastelands without curing Mardenus?!? He's one of the council members!

After you scry for the human council member, the game presumably resets Mardaneus' status, and locks the door of his house, etc setting up the orc occupation.
