Runes:
Bone + Mortar & Pestle = Bone dust
Stardust Herb + Mortar & Pestle = Star dust
Bone dust + Star dust = Pixie Dust
Wood + Oil + Pixie Dust = Small Flame Rune
Water + Gold + Pixie Dust = Small Thunder Rune
Water + Metal + Pixie Dust = Small Frost Rune
Rock + Beer + Pixie Dust = Small Rock Rune
Bone + Poison + Pixie Dust = Small Venom Rune
Livewood Log + Wine + Pixie Dust = Small Masterwork Rune

Any small rune combined with itself = Medium rune of that type
2 Medium runes of the same type = Large rune of that type
3 Medium runes of the same type = Giant rune of that type
2 Large runes = Giant rune of that type

Runes are currently useless I think


Making bigger Potions:
All potions seem to work using the following formula:
2 Minor = Medium
Minor + Medium = Normal
2 Medium = Normal
Medium + Normal = Huge / Large
2 Normal = Huge / Large
1 Augmentor + Minor/Medium = Normal
1 Augmentor + Normal = Large
1 Augmentor + Large = Huge

So for eg 2 Normal healing potions will make a huge however, so will 1 medium and 1 normal. If you're crafting them then create a stack of both and use those for min maxing.
With that in mind I'll not include potions that combine with themselves since it creates a tl;dr post
Stat boost potions do not follow the same rules.


Poison Potion + Red Dye = Poison Potion (That looks like a healing potion)

Herb Combinations for potions:
Empty bottle + Fly Agaric = poison
Empty bottle + Penny Bun = Minor healing
Empty bottle + Yarrow = Healing Elixir
Empty bottle + Whisperwood = Magic armour
Empty bottle + Amadouvier = Physical armour
Empty bottle + Guepinia = Fire resistance
Empty bottle + Bluegill = Water resistance
Empty bottle + Jellyroom = Air resistance
Empty bottle + Earth tongue = Earth Resistance
Empty bottle + Trumpet Of Death = Minor Resist all

Maybe, though that would be OP. It's more likely that it corresponds to the 3 different categories that the runes affect, namely: Weapon, Body Armour and Amulet.

Pretty sure you'll be able to place 3 runes into a weapon or armor or amulet (if it has three runeslots like Dallis' hammer shown). Runes are a nice addition, good way to add customization. Does seem really strong to add 3 large runes to a weapon, not sure how easy it is to get good runes. Numbers probably need to be tweaked.

Yeah holy wowness, +33% max vitality? +19% hit chance (what a weird number)? I wouldn't be surprised if the amulets only have 1 slot (hence arguably more powerful effects), but even the weapon and body armor effects would be stupid if stacked.

Blue gill mushroom and empty potion bottle - doesnt do anything right now.

Cooking pots cannot be used on any fire, only "kitchen pots". They look the same, same icons and all.

Seems its all still buggy.

Can we craft any of those essences ourselves? They are very rare in the game.

This list was taken directly from the game files so there is nothing to expand. I may have missed one or two items so if you find something tell me. I know I'm missing the sword combo for eg

One thing I'll say is that some names don't always translate exactly in game. So for eg, in the game files Oven = cooking pot. I simply renamed much of this stuff to make it easier for you all. I may have made mistakes.

No but Exeter & Nabura sells them when you're level 7+ I think

I think crafting is a total mess right now. No matter what i try to combine , its not working. And recepies are rare. I dont see how you can craft something , other than cheking recepies online from someone.

I really wish they would expand crafting combinations so that they make more sense and so we can make items by using several combinations and still get some.

In a system like this you really need those recipe books or else you are down to guessing and searching for recipes online.

For example:
"Wooden Stick + Bowstring = Bow
Wooden Stick + Wooden Branch = Crossbow"

How does this make any sense?

Why cant i make a bow with a wooden branch too?
Since when are bows made out of sticks?

And why doesnt crossbow demand some metal scraps or metal rods - metal whatever? The "Limb" of the crossbow is made out of metal, not wood.
I wont even mention we are using arrows for crossbows too... oh wait i just did. I can look over that as it would require one more ammo type in the game but at least make crossbow crafting make more sense.

And how do i make a singlehanded mace then?

I could go on for days about this but im guessing this is still simply an unfinished feature.
A lot of recipes dont work, or you cant use all "cutting tools" but only specific knives and so on.

But if recipes remain weird like this and there is lack of crafting recipe books as there is now the whole feature will suck. Although it doesnt need to and it is easy to enhance it in simple and easy to understand and guess ways.

Crafting isn't really a feature they are overly concerned about right now in Alpha/Beta, that's been known since it started pretty much.

Crafting will be much less messier when the game launches for sure.

Wood Chips + Water = Wood Pulp
However
Wood Pulp + Cooking Station doesn't work.
Neither Bonfire / Campfire / Cooking Station don't work as a fire source with Pulp to make a Paper, so I'm guessing it still has to be a Furnace, the one you smelt ores in.

I have yet to discover a way to make a Short Stick to use for wand crafting. If anyone knows, please do reply to this message.

There are two Item Combination entries for the Long Branch that I have found in the items combinations file.

ItemCombination "CuttingTool_LOOT_WoodenBranch_A
Which results in Arrow Shafts

ItemCombination "LOOT_WoodenBranch_A_CuttingTool
Supposed to result in LOOT_WoodenStick_A

Only the first works.
