Hey,
I was wondering if the undead elf will still have the flesh eating ability?
I really love that ability but would like to try an undead...
Looking forward to the release and can´t wait .

Another question:
since it is released on the 14th, will it be available early in the morning? Then I could download it while going to work smile

Thx in advance
Lyn

Yes it seems that the Undead have all the abilities of their living counterpart, even though it doesn't show.

that is somehow strange, since they bring other abilities with them (play dead). On the other side I am happy, since now I can try it.
Thx a lot.

They retain the passive, not the active of their former race.
The active is replaced by play dead.
So you can eat the flesh but don't have flesh sacrifice (you have no flesh anymore).
Could be cool to be able to flesh sacrifice someone else :p

I could be wrong but I think that's how they made it.

No, the demonstration showed they still retain the active.

Fane had Encourage.

Hum frown
Can he marrow sacrifice?
Too bad then, I though he only got half of the benefits.

Actually, if you check again the Undead reveal stream, they start with an Undead lizard, his active is play dead, he doesn't have the lizard active.

Don't forget that icon don't get removed as you lose memory of change form. So you would get the icon of encourage even when switching to something else, even if you can't use it anymore.

So I still think you only get one active.

In the undead stream the icons did change from play dead to metamorphose when they used the shapeshifting mask to change from undead to dwarf, so I don't think that explains the errant encourage.

But, based on the character creation shown on that same stream I think it is correct that an undead character has the active skill of the race replaced with play dead.

As for Fane having encourage in the stream, there are some possibilities for why: (1) It was a bug (2) he was wearing an item that granted the skill, like the teleport gloves in the EA, (3) he had the shape shifting mask, changed into an elf, as an elf ate something that gave him the skill, then shifted back to his undead form.

There was no time skip so...

2 and 3 are definitely false.

It is likely 1... Though honestly I personally think they should maintain the skill.

That would mean an undead had access to 5 different active racial skills depending on his use of the mask? I wouldn't mind he even had all 5 skills at the same time (to balance his utter ugliness?), as I don't intent to play as undead, but I remember some people crying about even one racial ability some time or the other.

This. The mask was a stretch goal for everybody, and everybody can craft their own mask. So you can explore any content you want.

Mask?
Wait a second... somehow I overlooked something! So you can craft a mask to play as a different race? Will it be available early in game? Or will it cost so much that you can only craft it in higher lvl?

I KNOW you can collect one of the ingredients in the first chapter.

The second ingredient... I have no idea. It isn't in the Early Access but then again a LOT of things aren't in early access.

You need 2 ingredients which can both be found during/after leaving Fort Joy.

However you DO need to use the faceripper on each race so you also have to have 5 different "victims" to get the full mask. You can use the single race ones on their own as well untill then.

So it should be totally possible to get the full mask after Fort Joy and a bit of faceripping work in chapter 1.

The MAsk of the Shapeshifter was a Kickstarter Stretch Goal, yes.
