Divinity Survival Overhaul

Hi community, I'm a french "modder". I finished the game once in the highest difficulty mod then I actually decide to rebalance it a little bit.

While playing especialy in a multiplayer open game. I found that a lot of features were broken. that make the game realy too easy and give the ability to players to never really feel in danger in Hardcore. Here are some of those mechanics.

- The ability to load your last savegame even in combat.
- The ability to save everywhere
- The ability to carry 100kg Potion ( aprox 350 potions )
- The ability to wait other players to join combat even you're not with them.


I also got some issue using buffs in the game :

- The rest buff is really hard to handle. 3 turns only and not close to enemy's
- The resistance potions are really hard to craft especialy the huge ones and the buff is really short 2 turns only
- The food is also strange it have no differences with healing potions


Then I decided to rebalance the game with something witch looks à lot to the Divinity original gameplay but with and increased difficulty in hardcore.


I'd like to introduce you to my "Survival Mod project" here are the features i'm intended to change :


Backups:

- Disable fast save and quick loads Require Help
- Create a "Savegame" function for fire camps Require Help
- Create a "Savegame" function at temples. Require Help

Weight:

- Increase the minimum weight to (25kg) (Done)
- Reduce the maximum weight (45Kg) (Done)
- Reduce weight per strength point 500g (Done)
- Increase the weight of gold coins to 10g (Done)
- Increase the weight of the sleeping bag to 15 Kilo (Done)
- Back pack reduce the weight of items with 30% are unique in inventory and have only 16 slots Require Help

Crafting:

- Provide the ability to create a campfire. (WIP)
- Making all objects useful with an extended craft mod (WIP)

Improvements and Potions:


- Make the duration of the "rest buff" of permanent (Done)
- Making the Duration of "Resistance Potions / Statistics" Permanent (Done)
- Give to food a 2% regen / 3 Second + a minor permanent buff (WIP)

Combat Features:

- Disable "Food, resistance potions and statistics" at the end of the first fight. Require Help
- Add a game time per turn of 30 seconds. Require Help
- Make backpack Only usable out of fight Require Help

As you see they are some functions witch I don't handle actually. then I need to find a way with this


I'm pretty new to modding, It took me a lot of time to handle the few things. I know but I learn really fast then feel free to post some solutions if you know how to do.

I Know that some players wouldn't agree with the moddifications please, stay polite and be as much constructive as you can

Lets keep it english tho ;-)

I just created a "flint" item, that, when you use it,
Creates a campfire (70% chance).
Flint is destroyed in the process.
The camp fire last for 1 or so minute.
The player gains between 1-3 XP in case of failure.
If you are interested, let me know, but I have no idea on how to transmit you the files :-(

Why the possibility to create a campfire?

I'm trying to find a way to build a campfire for savegames, even IMO they are already a lot of them in game.

But The 4 other persons on this mod voted for this. the dude who advanced the idea said : If we can't teleport anymore, can't fast save, it can be issues if players have to disconect fast and save they're progress, then we should give the option to create a save solution but with a cost. ( Ressources and maybe 2 or 3 other elements )

Yeah this can be an idea, do you this it can be a way to add wood consume when used ?

Maybe. Engine is very powerfull, but I would need to dive into this, and I have other plans for now. I will keep you informed tho.
