hi!
just bought the game today ( <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> won't come out for ages so i thought i might get this) and it wont install, i gets to 5% then just stops (it stops on the file cpackedb.1c

i'm running windows xp pro
3d prophet kyro 4500
over 30gs of space

I assume that you have tried to re-install it a few times. Hmmmmm.... Did you buy this retail or from someone else. Or EBAY? Sometimes the cd is damaged. Or the file on the cd is corrupted in some way. I have XP pro and had no problem installing it. Any other info on your PC?

2. i did a manual installtion (i opened the patch with winrar), the game works but only for a while. like 15 mins then it stops, anyone no why???? (p.s. i know its not graphics or anything like tht because if i save n resart i can go to the place where it froze, could it be pop-upss????)

Did you have any problem manually extracting files? There is a file verification method in the troubleshooting post. You should not need to extract the files from the patch, unless you have to install it from an account in Windows XP that does not have administrative privileges.

Did you shut down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? Background programs could be causing problems, though that is usually just a drop in performance.
