Fire resistance potions work quite well against her, so does Living on the edge.

Yes, the +50% Fire Resistance potion I took ensured that my resistance after she acted was a temperate -68%. (Actually, sarcasm aside, that really was enough, after popping 870 HP potions on my frontliners.)

I have beaten the fight now. It's just always a shock when you get one-shot from full.

Yeah it's not about your resistance after her debuff, a solo character can oneshot her at level 13 (I did twice her hp at 15) so it's all about surviving her first turn and then killing her before she can act again.

Oneshot her on Tactician? Lore seems pretty pointless when you use it to examine her before you fight and it shows her resistance hole of Frost but then it is instantly patched up with a permanent +100 resistance plus immunity to freeze cheese. I thought we'd moved on from Kangaxx-like cheesy fights from BG2 where you have to know exactly which moves to make after the millionth time dying to cheese. Cheese. Oneshot cheese and cheesy auras and resistance cheese.

I'm trying not to use Lone Wolf anymore, but as soon as I come across this nonsense it makes me wish I hadn't switched.

Use a high dmg ranger and necromancer with living on the edge. Use elemental dmg and ur just gimping urself in this game.

Depending on your level you don't even need lone wolf to one shot her (with level 15 I did 2x her hp, pretty sure without lone wolf you can do it 1x) it's just with wolf you could do it at 13. wink
But yeah atm it's more about phys > elmental, until they maybe change phys damage types into slash pierce crush and introduce res to each type.

Oh, I did about 20 damage with a cold spell, level 13 non-Lone Wolf.

How awesome you read my post, oh wait...
Here I talk my ass off about physical damage and you attack with a cold spell...

I haven't fought her since I posted here, and I'm not going to change my party for the umpteenth time to suit one specific encounter. I'm saying she's ridiculous against elemental damage and her Cold resistance being enabled as soon as the fight starts is unfair. Oneshot abilities that go beyond her level are unfair. I'm actually not interested in unbalanced solutions. I think I will try beating her with bless and restoration spells.

I don't think her resistance is unfair.
I think it is unbalanced there is ONE single enemy in the entire game with phys resistance and countless elemental resistant ones.

Yes it is. It shows she has -50% cold before the fight starts, then she gets +75% and immunity to frozen. All her other resistances are high from the get go. It's a troll, plain and simple.

The lack of physical resistance compared with elemental is also nonsense, I never disputed that.

I think that might be a Tactician-only thing, as she did not gain that in my fight versus her.

However, that is still a bullshit thing, which in now way belongs in Tactician, because it goes against the idea of thinking smart and planning your tactics.

That does not mean it is not bullshit and we should shut up.

If you fight her when you are on level with her, with level appropriate gear she will not 1 shot you. I tried fighting her with level appropriate gear without self buffing before hand in honour mode and whilst she did a lot of damage, she did not kill me straight off the bat. You will need to make use of mechanics like chameleon cloak if you cannot kill her in exactly 1 turn though.

A much scarier fight to do in honour mode is attacking Hannag. My heart leapt into my chest when I saw, "Hannag Reborn is casting Lava Portal" but fortunately she was aiming at a magister ranger :P
