Praying on altars in Driftwood doesn't close the quest. It is said in the web that you need to talk the scarecrow in the field. But it is hostile from the start so by the time I open all altars the scarecrow is long time dead. And even if it was alive, people say it attacks you anyway.
It's also said that the scarecrow bit is false or trolling. Both don't seem to be connected at all. The quest simply doesn't close. There's no reward, no resolution to it. At least noone seems to have found it as of yet. More than a month after release when many have already finished the game.
