Since the last patch v3.0.159.021, I've noticed that the game now constantly resets world objects when loading in. This is new right? I've never noticed this behaviour before.

Chest/Container states are saved (so if they've been looted, they don't reset) but random items set out in the world (like herbs) are reset and can be gathered ad-infinitum.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended design to improve save bloating (less data to save if it resets to a default) - The load screen does say it's cleaning up the level.

It is exploitable in that you can save scum and infinitely farm an area for the world items around.

It feels unintended and odd to see and be able to re-loot items you've already looted before.
