This review has been up a while, it came from the magazine PC Zone.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/front_index.php?

It's not possible to link direct to the review, so you'll have to go here, click Reviews, then scroll down a bit and you'll see it.

Oh but it is possible to like direcctly to the review <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

And it has been posted a while back.

Strange review BTW the score does not reflect the text.

Hehe, I just get the Register for the site screen when I click on that link!!!

Yeah the text is quite approving of just about everything. It seems the only gripe they had where graphical, but that doesn't warrent the score they gave.

But it was a mag review, and if a game doesn't have the latest 3D super bump-mapped textures with real world physics etc. etc. then it automatically loses points.

Mags are always careful about what they give the big points too, afraid of flak from the public if they 'get it wrong'.

Cheers for putting the review link's up <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

71 out of 100 , not too bad I suppose!
I agree with ya Plowking their main gripe appears to be with the graphics but also with combat!

They didn't have the latest version of the game with the new combat options. The review has been there since the beginning of April.

Err,... now I get the register screen when doing it the regular way (front page + Review link) too. I don't think linking directly to it has anything to do with it.

If you refering to the one from Fragland: No, it is based on preview code too.

At least they've got the name of the game right now (they had it down as Divine Divinity) I emailed one of their writers so it looks like it got through yay <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I mean who could *possibly* mix those two names up <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

The Fragland review is based on the game as it will be released in stores.

Allow me to be sceptical. Even if they got the code in the same time as it went gold I doubt they played through the whole game in 2-3 days.
Besides the only screenshots they've posted are from preview code.

"Another thing I really liked in the game was the voice acting; unlike in the demo where I found the Death Knight a horrible voice to listen to I really enjoyed him in the full game..."

- I'm very curious about new voice of Death Knight.
- I wonder if the main character can go to battlefield alone.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that. These guys are soulforged together, so they have to go everywhere together, to cover eachothers backs. If you knew you died if your friend died, wouldn't you be around your friend all the time to protect him/her?

And what if you are under severe enemy attack, and only your main character travels to the battlefields. That means your deathknight is left behind to die, killing your main character. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

<span class='standouttext'>Spoiler : </span><span class='spoiler'> But what happens after you finish the game?
We could guess that the soulforging is undone by then and you play endlessly in the BF

Not every site takes screenshots themselves ya know. For the rest; if Larian post it as 'the first english review' they probably know it too that it was based on the full version.

First of all, Fragland doesn't count down starting from 100%. I don't know any site that does that, that would be utter garbage.

Secondly: Our score system is based on a number of calculations based on the individual scores, here being 86% for concept, 70% for graphics, 81% for gameplay and 90% for sound. After recalculation (taking into account the type of game which is RPG - this gives a specific weigth to each category) that comes to the final score.
We find this scoring system to be extremely objective although it's indeed much harder with this to give a game 90% or more. Most games that are of decent quality will get around 80% while only extremely good games that have great graphics, great sound, great gameplay ànd refreshing gameplay will get above 90 qua percentage. In fact, if a game doesn't have 90% or more on each seperate category, it will be very difficult to get a total score of over 90. You may or may not agree with our system but it's way more objective than some magazine slapping some numbers on categories and then giving an overall score based on his wet finger floating around in the air.

Last but not least, about us having a review online of the final version before anyone else: quite simple explanation -> we got the final version before the rest.

Oh, and I also spotted some post somewhere about us listing "Beyond Divinity" as "Divine Divinity". Sorry, we didn't make that error. We used to list Divine Divinity as "Divinity: The Sword of Lies" as its original title was before they changed it. We never made an error between Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity as far as I know and that would have been rather strange as Beyond Divinity was announced after release of Divine Divinity... (only thing we do have related in our dbase is Divine Divinity 2)
