We just released a first patch for the English retail version of Beyond Divinity. The patch addresses a number of bugs and also introduces a couple of game enhancements. It furthermore brings the version number of the game to the same level as the German version. For more information or to download the patch, follow this link.

i installed 1.32 patch. on the opening title menu, in the lower right, it shows 1.32 as version. but when saving or loading a game, the version are still 1.00. i didn't start a new game until after i installed the patch. the archery champion quest still pops up before you meet the guy that gives it to you.
*raised eyebrow* what gives?

ps. also, i didn't encounter the 50% hang at loading bug. i'm hoping i don't encounter any of the other bugs that are supposed to be fixed by the patch. also, version of another game started the day after the patch installed, is listed as 1.00 in save load plates.

If you have Windows XP, did you install the patch from an account with administrative privileges? It should be, if it was installed from the same account as the game.
Did you reboot after installing the game, before installing the patch? I don't know if that would cause a problem, or not.

EDIT;
I just checked my saves, and they are also displayed as v1.00A. I think that is just a display glitch, though.

I noticed the same thing. I installed BD last night, then immediately downloaded the patch and installed that before even going into the game. Started playing and did my first save. That's when I noticed the save game version was v1.00 (or something similar). I would have thought that it would have reflected the version number of the patch.

Anyone else seeing this as well? There were no error messages at all during the patch upgrade. Should I reinstall the patch again?

This is normal - nothing to worry about. If the game version is V1.32 you're ok. You can see the version in the right lower corner of the main menu.

Nice!!! Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear that. Now I can get into the game without that worry.

Just to make sure of the obvious, you did download the English patch, right? The patch should automatically find the install directory. Other than the "this is not a good game" message, did you see any other message before that? Also, did you reboot and try to patch again, just in case something funky was going on at the time?

I sure hope you can get it updated successfully. Depending on how you want to look at that message, it could be right. BD is NOT a good game - it's a GREAT game!!!

i tried reinstalling the patch, and got an error message indicating the version of the game was wrong.

actually, yes, i rebooted, as the initial installation of the game requested. and i did install from the administrator account, both the patch, and the game.
and to re-iterate, in spite of the installed patch and the splash screen game version of 1.32, the archer quest that pops up for no reason is still up to its old tricks.

ok, Lar, what about the archer quest appearing for no reason then?

it still does after the patch, so apparently everything is ok but that, which is fine with me, but i thought i would bring it to your attention and hopefully it doesn't affect the outcome of those quests.
hehe bytheway, the game is great thanks.
