Even if we are behind the tavern with no one in sight, attacking Garvan triggers everyone in town to go hostile. Glitch?

I killed Garvan yesterday at the same spot and it was fine. No hostile triggering here. Try reloading a savegame. Must have been some sort of glitch.

First playthough, no one noticed. Second, town noticed, but I had killed him before they saw it. We pretended to be very concerned.

for some reason the town is considered hostile during the fight but if you're behind the tavern nobody actually joins the fight, and then after the fight nobody is hostile
