Hi, I was just wondering if there was any way to convert an old save file to the newest patch version? Most of the time this works for games, and I thought it did until I realized that my save files still said version 1.000A. I just finished the citadel and I'd rather not have to restart. Is there any way to fix my save games? Thanks.

Your saves are automatically converted upon unstalling the patch. All saves display version 1.000A, even though they are of version 1.32, don't worry about that.

Are you sure? One of the things they fixed in the patch was the portrait of the characters switching, and after leaving the citadel the two of them have switched.

Yeah, my character portraits switched as well. I have also encountered most of the bugs the patch was suppose to fix <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Hmmm its odd though that the save file wouldnt show the change. It seems like the patch didnt stick.. and now we're playing on an updated game but the save file still retains all the bugs.. (or in some way they arent fixed) Very annoying heh..

If this is true than I am very angry.

No the save file doesn't keep the bugs..

I tried a new character under the new patch and still had a lot of the "corrected" bugs.

I am starting to wonder if the latest patch wasn't incorrectly deployed. Maybe we ended up with a cross between the files the patch was meant to fix and the original files.

If so, we might get lucky and end up with a quick refresh that solves most gamer's woes.

I hope that is the case. I don't like patches where most of the "fixes" don't fix anything.

I like many players am staying on the boards but not getting deep into BD until the game is more stable.

My time is just too precious to spend over 40 hours on a game and then find out my character is messed up because of a glitch and I have to spend all my gold to fix the skills or start over.

I am really hoping Larian fixes things right. I have played the game about 20-30 hours and what I have seen is awesome but ultimately the bugs kill the game.

Bugs seem to kill or maim too many otherwise good games ie. later Ultimas, Daggerfall, Sacred (real fun when a quest boss appears in town instead of the desired location and kills town people.. I also like the way you can complete a quest and then the status can change to failed if the rescued player dies, etc.)

I also am not playing until at LEAST the next patch. In all my years of gaming, and that's about 20 (I'll be 40 this year), I've rarely been affected by game bugs. This game has, by far, the most bugs that I've personally ever been affected by. When the game gets corrected (the Battlefield situation, quests never completing, etc.) then I'll start over again. I hate to waste the 10 or so hours I've invested so far, but I've missed alot of XP with the Battlefield bug, and other quests I've missed, so I want to get the "full" experience.

Regards,
Michael

I feel as you do. I'm almost to the point of putting it back in the box. Besides, when and if a new patch comes out, I would need to start over. I feel like I missed so much because of bugs
