I've been re-playing the game after the definitive edition release (in the hopes that maybe the ending is better now), and I'm still running in to the same stuff before, like the tooltip delay not being configurable so I have to wait for a second to compare a piece of gear to what each of my party members are wearing, and the same Warfare vs. Ranged bug. Specifically:

On my crossbow / bow users, Ranged says it gives +5% damage per point, Warfare says it gives +5% physical damage per point. Why is it, then, that when I swap 10 points of Warfare for 10 points of Ranged on a bow user, I see a 60 point drop in damage? :

Warfare 10, Ranged 1:
512-534

Warfare 1, Ranged 10:
452-471

Shouldn't they be equal? If one gives a 50% bonus for physical damage, and the other gives a 50% bonus for bows, why aren't they interchangeable / the same?

Ranged's bonus is additive, Warfare's is multiplicative. You get more benefit from Warfare. It's one of Larian's unfortunate blind spots in the design that they made Warfare the single superior stat.

Multiplication is just repeated adding - they shouldn't be different?

60 damage base
60 x 1.5 (50% Warfare bonus) = 90
60 + (50% of 60 Ranged) = 90
60 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 (Ranged added in 5% steps) = 90

So, it seems like someone messed up a calc somewhere.

there is a difference betveen addition and multiplication though.
for example if we multiply 150% base by 50% be basically have: 1.5 * 1.5 = 2.25 (like with 1.5 crit damage multiplier and 1.5 warfare multiplier in a case of 10 warfare)
while adding another 50% to 150% will lead us to 200% (like when we level our crit damage via soundrel10)

This bit is calculating by adding the 5% not multiplying them :

It should be multiplied by 1.05 ten times.

60 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 = 98

yes.. thats maths wink i am teacher...

additive:
100%+10x5%=150%

multiplicative:
100%x1,05^10=163%

So you can see, that multiplicative is always stronger. Btw: The same comes in the financals: compound interest:
5 years with 5% additive from 100EUR/Dollar gives at the end of the 5 years 25€/$. But normal you geht compound interest:
100x5%=5
105x5%=5,25 -> 0,25 more interests
100*1,05^5=127,6 -> 2,6 more than additive.

back to game:
This is the reason why i am always skilling warfare as archer smile Its to good to ignore...

The same mechanic is the huntsmen-Bonus. In the tooltip stands: bonus comes at the end -> (Basedamage x/+ Boni)*Huntsmenbonus.

So much math in here...

But this is just another manifestation of a major problem in DOS2 - inconsistency.
