Recently I've been wondering about how the nations of Rivellon view the Necromancy spell class and would like to share my ruminations.
With sevetal playthroughs and some research into the lore of past games, I have come to believe that Rivellonian necromancy can be devided into two subclasses: Combat or Reanimation. Combat necromancy seems to focus on crippling a foe , turning weaknesses into strengths , making battlefield corpses useful and prolonging the life of someone who can't hold out much longer. Reanimation is obviously focused on bringing dead sods back from the grave and using them to your advantage in various ways. I personally see the first subclass as ethical in its own way and despise the other, but what do you all say?

I guess it depends if the risen dead are re-animations or slaves.
