Let me first say I was just checking the patch against a 1.32 savegame, so it might not affect new saves. The Battlefields trainer let me learn Alchemy 4, and since I have some holy water I thought I'd make a permanent potion. However I can keep making them, almost indefinitely. The holy water is never used up, just the plants as normal, and since I have so many of them I quickly bumped Vitality/Mana/Stamina to 4000 each and the primary stats to 100+ each. Obviously if it should work like that then it takes great willpower to not abuse this.

The Holy Water was probably supposed to be used up.

Nope, was never used up - from 1st version on - BUT! the high stats you gain now are new.

How do you make permanent potions? Is there a site that tells you what herbs, etc., do and what skill levels you need to make various types of potions? Clearly there aren't enough skillpoints to merely "experiment"... if I want a decent alchemist character I'm obviously going to have to plan in advance and give up a lot to get one. But I cannot plan in advance if I don't have a clue what will be required... Catch 22!

Well I made a heck of a lot of potions to see if there was a limit. Since I was carrying about 30 each of the plants I could make lots! Each Stat gained about 15 per potion and Health/Mana gained about 800 per potion. I would have expected the holy water to vanish after one use.

Ben, in former versions the values were far lower - so you couldn't be as overpowered as now. I haven't downloaded the last 1.41 patch - but this is addressed as fixed => permanent potion prob. (Hope only the values, not the Holy Water <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> )

When my 2 last boss enemies were very strong in former versions, I used about 15 different potions to boost myself up. Primary stats were +1 - mana and HP +60, stamina +25 => see? Not so overpowered, right?
