It's on average only 2% slower than the min required cpu.

I've the same question. My PC has the I5-4590 despite the minimum recommended I5-4690 at loss of 4% average, but I think my computer can run the game pretty well.
I mean...your CPU can run Red Dead Redemption 2...
Sure an official answer is welcome.

Yeah, but BG3 isn't finished. A game can kill any computer if unoptimised enough. While I didn't play RDR2 specs are about more then graphics. Most of AAA systems tend to be rather basic - add a lot of systems and simulations that needs to be run, characters to be trackets etc. and especially processor power can be in great demand. I am sure requirements will come down overtime, but with over two weeks before EA release even Larian might not quite know how high exactly will the EA requirements be.

If its that close I'd venture to guess it would run, depending on what your GPU tied with that is as a caveat. I know I've played Skyrim for example on a laptop with only a built in Intel graphics chipset....granted you have to dumb the graphics and resolution down a good bit, but it was playable just fine.

They've paired the i5 4690 against an FX 4350, likely because they don't have the hardware to test on older Intels. The is 4690 is a *MUCH* faster chip than an FX 4350. Pairing the one against the other makes no sense, yet they're both minimum spec.

The 2500k should be fine as it's a better chip than the FX 4350 just as well.

Somewhat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqM5oeLULRY

The 2500k would already be significantly faster than the minimum spec FX 4350 though even at stock speed. A more appropriate Intel CPU to compare it to would be in the Core i3 range, which Larian apparently don't have one of to test yet. Else they'd pick a better suited Intel counterpart to the FX (that's my guess anyways).

To repeat, the minimum spec FX 4350 is not even close to being level with the minimum spec i5 4690. Assuming listing an FX 4350 isn't a mistake on Larian's part, a 2500k should do fine.

You'll be fine - I'm running EA on a 3770K OC with a 980 OC, for release I'll have my Cyberpunk PC though so that's great ;D

If i5 2500k is well above min specs, you can play this game on ANY 4 core pc since i5/i7 introduction. Even i5 2400 should do, right?

Why have specs at all if they re so divergent.

That's one for Larian -- and yes, the i5 2400 is faster than an FX 4350 just as well. (As would be the i5 2300).

My guess still is that they don't have any older Intel CPUs yet tested as they don't have any in the offices anymore. The i5 2xxx are from 2011 and i5 3xxx are from 2012 after all. Meanwhile, the FX 4350 is somewhat newer and from 2013. Just a guess tho. laugh

Do we know if it comes to GeForce Now? Cause any specs would be fine as long as you have a good internet bandwidth.

Is there any chance theres going to be an agreement for GeForce Now during Early Access? i'd love to play and partake in giving feedback but my laptop won't be able to run the game and Stadia is not available in my country :c

I'll be playing it on:

I9 10900K @ 5.1 Ghz / Corsair H115i cooler
32 Gb ram @ 4200 Mhx CL16
Asus Z490 itx
2x2 Tb M.2 Nvme SSDs in Raid 0 (£250 less than a single 4 Tb one)
Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti - I was ready to order an RTX 3080 on launch but they all sold out and only the reference one will fit in my ITX build.
1000w EVGA T2 PSU
2560x1440 144 Hz monitor

I was wanting the RTS 3080 and that shiny Samsung G9 5120x1440 240 Hz monitor next, but am now going to wait one more generation for the RTX 3080 refresh and whatever next monitors come out.

But I wont be able to play Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk with ray tracing until then frown

I was also wondering about Remote Play Together on Steam, is that going to be available during Early Access or full release? alot of my friends will be playing with capable computers so that could be an option as well, if available.

They've updated the space required to 150 gigs with the last update -- however not this.

Given the popularity of i5 2500ks, they probably should though. The minimum FX 4350 remains a much slower CPU than the 2500. Actually, if an FX 4350 suffices, several Core i3s should also.

Second gen Core Ix CPUs were the first to include AVX instructions and several other updated features that will at least allow programs to open and run.

The first generation of I7 CPUs and earlier lacked AVX at least, and any program requiring as such wouldn't even launch.

Best thing to do is try the game first, and then decide if you need an upgrade.
