One notable aspect when playing any DnD adventure is ensuring that you have allocated your ability scores (Strength, Consitution, Dexterity, Wisdom, Intelligence and Charisma) to ensure that you get the most out of your build and class. One feature I found annoying when playing/watching the Early Access, was the stat allocation for my companions. I have nothing against their classes, they are a central part of their characters and personal stories. I have an issue with how their scores have been distributed which makes my planned specialisation for my party more difficult than necessary. Astarion would make a great Arcane Trickster, being an Elf gives him plus 2 in Dex and him being a High Elf gives him an extra cantrip and plus 1 to Intelligence. Shadowheart would also be better if we used more of her points into Charisma, her Trickery Domain makes her a natural for Deception skill checks and Dexterity would be beneficial for a Sub-Class that grants bonus' to Stealth. Finally, Lae'zel, her being an Eldritch Knight is a perfect fit, her being Githyanki gives her plus 1 to Intelligence and plus 2 to Strength and all her racial bonus' make that role superb for her. And yet, their points are spread out very inconveniently. As a suggestion when recruiting our companions for the first time, allow us a chance to modify their ability scores so we can get the most out of them, and maybe pick and choose their proficiencies, that they have access to so they complement one another. I plan on having my Warlock being the Persuasive one, Shadowheart the Deceptive one and Lae'zel the Intimidating one. Obviously, Early Access will have its ups and downs, but the sooner we can work on our party members the more efficient we will be.
