Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.. I'm new to 5e and the last time I played any DnD was the version 3 rules I think.

Anyway when i go into the spellbook using "K" I can unselect a spell but I cannot select another one to replace it.. nothing happens. Still have 5 out of 6 spell slots.

What am I doing wrong? Resting doesn't do anything, I tried selecting spells in camp or town and nothing.

Advise? I have tried to find this by searching but nothing so far.

Could be that I'm just a complete noob again and doing something obviously wrong.

Did you try double clicking the spell in your spellbook?

I know that works for the cleric you get

Yep. it's only for my Character.. I can actually change the spells of other characters. I simply click the spell and it's highlighted again.. my spells do not however

Maybe try in Camp? If no luck there, then it is probably a bug.
Although if you can change others spells outside, but not your own, likely a bug...
I've only changed spells in camp, and on levelling up, so not 100% sure.

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue with my cleric.
Im at the camp and cannot change my spell, it says "cannot prepare another spell" ... I'm playing in french not sure is related.

I don't know if it's a bug or just that I don't do it on the right way ?!

It's all spells for me, and I can remove them fine just cannot add anything back. Also last night I could not figure out how to submit a bug report???

I figured there would be an obvious button somewhere..

Are they not bonus spells you get from abilities or items?

No, they are the ones in my spell book.. I can remove thus reliving a spell point, but cannot add a spell back

I forgot to add this small but important detail, It was really weird but it started to work for my Cleric after changing some spells from Gale ... ok thos 2 spells (previous comment) are still stuck but I should be able to remove them when Ill reach the next level I hope.

You can't remove so domain spells, those are 'free' and can't be replaced. You get different domain spells based on what kind of cleric you are.

I got that.. but regular spells I can remove but cannot add back.

I'm convinced it's a bug cause the other cleric I can do it just fine, the cleric I made I cannot. Same spell

Ah wait, Domain spells are ALWAYS auto-prepared (5e rules), that would explain the bug. No ?

Suggestion : the domain spells should/could be placed on a different row and be always marked Prepared.

I'm going to get a screen shot when I'm ready and if it's not a bug I really would like someone to teach me smile Because right now it makes zero sense what I'm trying to do.

But then again, I haven't played since 2.5 or 3 (Whatever Neverwinter Nights 2 was)

I think the spell ui needs changing. Having not played 5e I actually like the changes of how you memorize and use spells but the UI does a poor job IMO. maybe group the spells by level would be a good start. I don't know if they will do that because the UI is just a MMO setup. no distinction between spells, abilities use items, and all that. I'm liking a lot about the game but the UI is bad for anything other than a multiplayer, MMo like game.

Ran across an issue where the Wizard,( Gale I think?) was unable to learn new spells...when I right clicked on the spell, instead of giving the option of learning the spell for x gold, it indicated he was a "class that is unable to learn spells". However, a few restarts later, Mr. Wizzie could suddenly learn these spells after all. Noticed his new flexibility when I entered the Druid Camp, if at all relevant.
