I got them immediately called them brainy but they did not show up on the beach with me so i hope they will show up at camp later

I did too, but I thought it'd turn on me once I turned on the Mind Flayer so I told it to stay behind

I don't think you're meant to have it as a companion after the prologue

I did save ... it... but I guess it only goes as far with as the last battle on the Nautiloid.
Also, I dunno what happens when you don't "sabotage" it or treat it's "edema"... maybe it turns on you or something.

I saved it and left it whole. Never turned on me. It must die on the ship when it crashes, it does not seem to follow you after.

So, all those extra skill checks you can make are moot?... pity.
