I think the novella really added to the atmosphere when playing the game. I hope that Larian get rhianna to do another one for Divinity 2.

I'm enjoying the novella too. Still reading it though.

By the by: I swear, the part with the descriptions of the dead orcs I laughed myself stupid. So freaking sarcastic But I guess I was in a corny mood.

I read about 30 fantasy novels a year. I must say I am a bigger fan of fantasy litterature than computer games, which says a lot. So I actually read the novella before installing the game

I enjoyed it a lot, it tied Raanaar, Damned/Divine ones and Riftrunning together nicely. It made me wish the the cutscenes in the game were involving those gods.

I enjoyed the novella too. Good job, Rhianna! I particularly liked the intervening Gods.

I blame watching Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts too much as a kid

Well, they were on TV just about every bloody christmas so I guess you can't be blamed too much.

For some reason, the humour reminds me of Terry Pratchett
(ig. "All apart from one drop of blood that fell on a small hill in Northern Rivellon and that spawned a particularly nice crop of petunias.")

Enjoyed reading it, keep up the good work!

Right. "Some reason." Some not-at-all-obvious reason.

I'll have to scour the used bookstores later this summer, a cheap copy is bound to show up. In the meantime, I am one broke little gamer. All of May's "fun" budget went into buying the game (usually I wait until a game is under $30 before I bite). Ah, well. *scurries off to finish Act I*

I doubt it's the kind of thing you'd find in a bookshop since it's quite small and to my knowledge isn't being released outside of the fanpack and the special edition. But who know, eh? It certainly makes a nice change from the journalism!
