Having tried about 20+ hours of the early access despite the expected bugs I have to say I'm really impressed with what is already there at this early stage. However there is one thing that I believe takes away from the experience for me personally and it has to do with skill checks in dialogue. You are having some emotional conversation with a character, the voice acting is great, the music and mocap is on point, the production values are just all-round very impressive and then suddenly a giant dice appears in the centre of the screen obscuring everything that has been created in this world and destroying all sense of immersion.

Now I understand how important the dice is in d&d however that is coming from a tabletop environment where you have to use your imagination to experience the world while here in computer games we have visuals, sound, camera work and everything else fully realised. To have that all hidden each time a skill check occurs feels to me like a huge waste of the art which has been created by the dev team so my suggestion is this

For players who like to really immerse themselves into the Baldur's gate 3 story could you please add an option to either hide the giant dice rolls or to put them in a less in your face kind of way?

To be clear I do not want to take away from the enjoyment of those who like the tension of seeing the dice roll, nor am I asking for the dice's complete removal but I believe adding a game option in the menu to hide these rolls behind the curtain so to speak shouldn't ruin the fun for them hopefully while likewise enhance the experience for others like myself.

I'd go along with this, as well as the opposite.

I want to see every roll really. Initiative, attack, damage, checks. Allies, as well as mine.
