DId someone manage to do something with the owlbear encounter ?

I tried all available options (animal handling, speak with animals) but dialog options dont lead to anything, except get out or killing the beast (wich would be a shame)...

Same, tried it all. Seems this is a druid only option

I snug up on it and had interaction trigger. In the end the only option to avoid a fight was to back away. I fought....Once the Mother was dead the Cub became friendly but no interaction since it just eats...

The cub makes a reappearance in the goblin camp. There's dialog to get it to go to your camp afterward but I must have done something wrong and didn't get that far.

Yeah, I thought the cub was going to become my friend too. One thing that definitely doesn't translate well from 5e to video game is the lack of pets. I don't know why animal companions for druids and rangers weren't liked well at the table but in video games I looooove my animals companions. I also more enjoyed my familiars just acting as pets, hanging out with me and giving me bonuses rather than trying to fight.

Where was the cub located in the camp? And I assume it only happens if you kill the owlbear mother before clearing the goblin camp?

I did it with animal speaking, you'll have to be "neutral" with the goblins I think (and not wreck havock and kill everything) :

first told the Owlbear mother (in cave) I wasn't a danger and leave them (Dont know if that mattered for next part).
Then I spoke to the cub in goblin camp, after declining the stupid game from the gob, and invited the cub in my camp. I then intimidated the gob to let us free to go.

Now I'm expecting to see the little pup in my camp next long rest wink
