I'd think a pretty simple QoL improvement, being able to cast spells on people by using their portraits would be great.

I was going to post this myself, actually this isn't just for spells, but I would include attacks as well.

The issue with attacks, either magical or Melee/Ranged standard Attack Actions, is that it is too easy to click the ground instead (which sometimes you might want to do), whilst trying to position the character in the move part of the attack. Being able to select the portrait of the enemy in question within the Initiative bar (highlighting the 3d Model as you hover over to ensure you have the right opponent - maybe even move camera), would mean the AI would be responsible for taking the directest route (if movement is needed for melee attacks) and taking the swing. The % to hit should appear just as if you were hovering over an enemy in the normal manner.

Yes it might not be the path I would choose, but it would be a trade-off if I wanted to ensure the attack wasnt wasted by a misclick.

You could simplify it by not allowing movement via this method.

It also improves targetting choices, because by selecting the enemy via the initiative bar you see more easily who has what health and can attack accordingly.

Yes please. The UI is pretty bad in this game.

+1.

Also make spells such as bless targetable, and not random. It's supposed to be 3 targets "of your choice." Not "place a bubble and hopefully the 3 targets you actually wanted to get the bonus, gets the bonus."

Was actually surprised I couldn't do it.

Yes, please let us target the avatar to cast spells on targets, if possible.

I agree! I tried using portraits a few times because of camera problems (and when targeting someone normally turned out to be bugged). It would help a lot. My suggestion is that it only executes attacks that do not require movement (I can already see attacks happening that I didn't consider still needing movement just for the AI to decide otherwise and trigger opportunity attacks).

+1 Yes please it would be a huge improvement. The times Ive clicked on the portrait to select it and then have the conversation start is driving me crazy. Clicking on the portraits for multiple reasons is such a smart and normal thing for role playing Video games, Larian should consider it.

+1, no idea why this wasn't included since DOS2 had it.
