During pre-alpha showcases of the game I got the impression that you could check a DC before deciding if you wanted to do the skill check.
While I'm glad that got changed, I do miss one aspect of being able to do that: Information.
Currently you have very little information to go on on which skill check is difficult and which is easy, except your own modifiers. At the tabletop a player might ask the DM about someone's demeanor, to try and get a hint at what sort of skill might work best with them, because the DC is different if I choose Intimidation or performance. The outcomes might differ too but that's okay in my opinion.
Just an observation, and maybe something to help alleviate peoples frustrations with the rolls.
