Is there a 5e reason why my ranger at lvl4 would not have any lvl 4 spells? Also, is there reason behind spells disappearing from the toolbar? Fully rested but spells are missing.

Because Rangers are a hybrid caster like a paladin.

If you are meaning SPELL SLOTS at level 5 Rangers get 4 1st Level Spell slots and 2 2nd level spell slots.

If you are actually talking about 4th level spells... that would be level 13 adventure level.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. If BG3 grabs me enough, I'll buy the 5th ed rules and cease asking noob questions.

You can find free rules for the 5th edition pretty much everywhere (it's legal), like here for the ranger class : https://www.aidedd.org/en/rules/classes/ranger/

(french site but you can find all original (EN) content here as well).

It will give you better understanding of underlying base mechanics of this edition, pretty much all of them will translate to BG3 (if the game stay as advertized ofc).

There's four basic types of casters:

Full Casters: Bards, Clerics, Druids, Sorcerers, Wizards
Half Casters: Paladins, Rangers (Artificers?)
Third Casters: Eldritch Knights, Arcane Trickster (Artificers?)
Pact Magic: Warlocks.

Full, Half, and Third casters basically use the same chart, just do the appropriate math. (a 6th level third caster is equal to 2nd level full caster. A 6th level half caster is equal to a 3rd level full caster)

Warlocks do their own thing. They get a small selection of spell slots (2 slots up until 11th level unless you have equipment that give you extra slots) that recover on short rest instead of full rest.
