I made an account specifically to post this haha.

Keith Baker explained earlier this year that there's no mechanical reason ceremorphosis wouldn't work on a Warforged as of 5e: https://twitter.com/HellcowKeith/status/1274076463063429121

Also not sure if anyone had posted it here but.

The skeleton is Jergal and he's been bound by Helm to help the player party as penance for his role in reviving the dead three:

"synopsis" : {"type" : "LSString", "value" : "After the party has slain a group of undead scholars, the judge of death--Jergal--climbs out of his sarcophagus to greet them. He has been locked inside for years by the god Helm to atone for his part in raising the Dead Three, wicked gods who are now plotting to conquer the realms. Jergal is emotionless and excessively formal, both resigned to his fate and that of others. He is here to assist the party because that is his divine oath, not out of any true desire to act. Players can attempt to goad or attack him, but to minimal effect, as he is functionally immortal. His only goal was to see their faces, so he can find them at camp later to offer further assistance. "}

"synopsis" : {"type" : "LSString", "value" : "Jergal, a god of the dead, awaits the player in camp. He is bound by the judgment of another god - Helm - to assist the players as penance for past crimes. He provides resurrection services to the players."}

Yeah, that has been posted but I'm guessing that has been removed

And changed to chosen of Jergal. Jergal looks like a cross between a praying mantis and an ant-man and Jergal plays an important role in getting souls to their proper afterlife. If Jergal has been trapped in tomb for years then there is a backlog of souls who are vulnerable to depredations of devils and demons.

Deities can assume multiple forms, and one of Jergal's forms is a praying mantis/ant-man, yes. That doesn't mean he always appears as a praying mantis-like being. He can also take the form of a "mortal man with a great white beard" or any "undead creature".

Thanks Ellenhard! If you mean the voice line files I'd love to but the sheer amount of lines to go through would make it tough for anyone to cover. The more specific stuff like the racial, origin and class tags will be much shorter and hopefully adequately explained (at least to the best of my ability).

This thread may interest some.

I'm not sure what the rules are with linking other discussion boards, so if this isn't acceptable, I'll copy the text here instead!

I'll have to check again but
I don't remember a Barovia portal. The others yes, but Barovia, no. The place is in the Shadowfell anyhow (unless WoTC moved it again?).

The Echoes portal has me puzzled, I think it leads to what is named Echoes of Shar in the game files.

Yes, there is a lots of Shar stuff in the side content of Act 1 B.

GITHYANKI ARTIFACT OPENED Link

There is a lot of information about the githyanki hidden away in Baldur's Gate III. Here is a summary:

The artefact:

This blackened iron icosahedral artefact is an infernal puzzle box with Gith runes on its surface. This item is crucial to the main plot. As such, not only the githyanki are after this, but also several other parties and beings, perhaps even including Raphael.

Inside the artefact lies the spirit of a gith general. The general has been trapped here for a very long time, and is of major importance to the gith and others. Shadowheart was specifically tasked to steal this artefact and bring it to Baldur's Gate. During this mission, her enemies were the githyanki. The imprisoned gith general is referred to as male.

Speculation/spitballing on who the general inside is. Seeing that the gith general is male, it is likely not Gith herself, though this would have been my first guess due to the relations with Tiamat and the nature of the artefact. Who else could it be? The githyanki see this as a weapon for sure. Could it be Zerthimon (male gith general of old)? If so, his escape could rally the githzerai, which could prove a great threat to the githyanki, especially with the combined forces of Zaerith Menyar-Ag-Gith and Zerthimon combined. Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes is very clear that the githzerai are waiting for Zerthimon's return, with Menyar-Ag being the forefront of this. See this passage by Menyar-Ag: "Zerthimon does not expect us to wait in patience for his return. Instead, we must pave the way for his efforts, so that we can hasten the coming of our golden age." Are there any other male gith generals of old it could be?
The artefact is sentient (via the trapped general's spirit), and it is directly manipulating Shadowheart. It forces her to confront us, the protagonists, and our party. The general in fact specifically wants to fall into the hands of the party, with the goal to break free. This forces Shadowheart to join us, and thus she will appear at our camp even if she does not join us at the initial meeting spot, Emerald Grove, etc.

Characters and companions may kill each other over the artefact, particularly Shadowheart and Laezel.

It is possible to extract the blueprints of Shadowheart's artefact.

Some runes appear to be simple tir'su, whilst others are far more complicated. I've added two views of the artefact, one looking at it from the front, the other from the back. I've displayed each rune in the plane of your screen instead of perpendicular to the icosahedron's faces for clarity.

I noted the ones closest to tir'su as green, then the ones getting further away from it are orange, and then the ones which are really far away from tir'su are red. I only chose the runes which were closest to tir'su, but note that the ones in marked in red should not be taken as fact at all (they are just a closest guess, but I'm quite sure this isn't the Githyanki alphabet and are instead some new, unique runes made by Larian). These runes appear to just be nonsense when compared to tir'su.[Linked Image]

The creche:

In act 1b, it is possible to access a githyanki creche, which is essentially a nursery and training ground.
From this creche, we can access a vista to act 1a (early access) or to SCL (potentially the shadow cursed lands surrounding Moonrise Towers).
There are several patrols here, and in certain cases, it it possible to be spotted and ambushed by githyanki.
There is both a dungeon and an outdoors area of the creche.
There is a "psychic extractor" located here. You will likely have a run-in with a beholder...
There is an interesting portal here, surrounded by runes. These runes essentially stand for the following letters: "A" "C" "D" "E" "H" "I" "L" "M" "O" "W"

They can be used in combination to access portal "regions":
"H O M E": Astral plane
"W I L D": Feywild (includes a potential deal with a hag)
"A C H E": Shadowfell (includes an undead ambush)
"D E A L": Avernus
"E C H O": Echoes
"H O W L": Barovia

As per the thread, there certainly appears to be a portal combination for Barovia...

Code
DB_SCL_GithCreche_PortalCombinations("H","O","W","L","Barovia");
DB_SCL_GithCreche_PortalPlanes("Barovia",ITEMGUID_S_SCL_GithCreche_Portal_Barovia_6bb28d1a-90c0-4e80-91bd-0ebadcd95c29,(EFFECTRESOURCE)EFFECTRESOURCEGUID_VFX_Script_Stub_OverlayMaterial_01_696c97d8-5173-a2ea-9c35-4524995efd62);

call CreateTypedValueStr(Type = 4, Value = Barovia
call CreateTypedValueStr(Type = 5, Value = ITEMGUID_S_SCL_GithCreche_Portal_Barovia_6bb28d1a-90c0-4e80-91bd-0ebadcd95c29

If anyone is curious I wrote down some notes and connections regarding Shadowfell and Barovia here - https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=730431#Post730431

Great find!

I think the general in question isn't a canon character (yet), if it is a person, and not a soul-fueled sentient weapon ( I think it's the latter).

Verrry interesting. Makes me reconsider a theory about the absolute I had previously dismissed --
perhaps Vlaakith is the mastermind after all. She sits on a throne of mind flayer bones and can leech mind flayer powers, she is almost certainly is responsible for Gith's imprisonment and Zerthimon is the one person other than Gith with the authority to destroy her plans. Namely to become a god to other races. Perhaps she is manipulating the mind flayers and collaborating the dead three.
