If you mean how do you set the explosive, try this:

Spoiler : Go towards the north wall and you will find a section that flashes when you mouse-over it, simply drop the explosive on that area and you are done with the act.

There is a lever in the room, and I was wondering were you got the directions for using the lever. I would'nt know how to blow it up, no expertise in explosives.

Well, there was a note of Nikodemus in the first level, giving you a clue how to make gunpowder. And the rest => just using imagination. Besides that => the DK said soemthing about blowing up and the conversation between imp and smith gave clues, too.

See? this is the manuscript. You don't need it to activate the forge though. the lever is not active, so has no function. Only the lava forge is => drop explosive into it.

Or if you don't want to be bothered or don't have the ingredients (which were scattered around the dungeon) just open a door and leave the Chapter - all it costs you is about 20,000 XP which in no big deal at your level.

Thanks. Think I have most of that stored in the battle grounds.

So it is not vital to the plot of the game? It is not necessary to do so? I do not have all ingrediants and just want to continue. I am Level 12 and 20,000XP is nothing, you're right.

Thanks

NOt necessary to do, you have either option, one just gives you some extra exp.

No difference to the plot whatsoever between blowing up the hatch to let the lava in, and just unlocking the door near the demon's lair and simply walking out <shrugs>. The former is more xp (about 20,000) the latter actually makes more sense as the cut scene totally ignores what you have done and gives no hint as to how you escaped being roasted to death.

Where is this door? I picked up the sulphur but dropped it somewhere to make room So my only option is finding this door to click out of citadel but I've searched everywhere and can't come across it... ahhhhh
