Did you try casting Darkness on it?

Good idea, gonna try darkness. Another interesting thing might be with the smaller statue we find in the owlbear lair. It's a miniature of the big one. Wonder if there is not something to unlock with these two.

That ought to keep Gale from whining for awhile too!

Is there actually a way to get it? Even throwing one of those orbs from the Nautiloid at it that supposed to warp items to you broke it...
