I chose a Tiefling but I'm role playing as a hyperintelligent Markhor that likes to wear hats.

Githyanki, seemed like the most interesting option. Currently playing a gith wizardess. Though I might be tempted to roll a gnomish sorceress once they are in, especially if deep gnomes are included.

I'm boring. I usually play humans or half-elves. Sometimes elves. Occasionally dwarves, rarely halflings. I don't really play the "special" races much.

That being said, IF they add Githzerai, then I will play that first. Githzerai are my favorite D&D race.

Scheming halfling bard/rogue with a lot of freckles and curly blonde hair. It was my last actual d&d character and still one of my favs (course the chances of me getting Vecna's Eye is probably zero). Other than that changeling if they have it, doubt that though.

I usually run a bit of everything overtime, but favor elvish races. For BG3 thus far, I've done a female Wood Elf Ranger, a male High Elf Wizard, A male Half-Elf Warlock, a male Lightfoot Halfling Rogue and dabbled with male Zariel Tiefling and Githyanki fighters. Still gotta trot out a dwarven cleric and a couple of Drow options that intrigue me!

I like human and half orc barbarians, but sometimes settle for fighters. Depending on how they look in the final release, I might take a look at dragonborn and wood-half elf. At first Ranger knight was what I was looking forward too, but I began to lose interest over time. Talking to animals was cool till I realized it was mainly to help avoid fights. That's the opposite of what I want on my adventure. I want to find the biggest and strongest enemy and take it out. I don't want to hear sob stories or worse rude creatures with long backstories.

I've always had a soft spot for half-orcs and all of the short races, and I really want to try a recreation of one of my tabletop characters, so it kind of depends on what class plays best in the final version for me. Either a rogue half-orc or gnome, or a dwarf bard. Considering I played a rogue gnome in a Descent into Avernus game, maybe that'll be most fitting.

My preferred race will always be Tiefling, but I will occasionally main a Drow.

I want to play an Aasimar, if not then half-elf.

I started early access as a high elf wizard, but switched to a wood elf ranger because I like having Gale in my party. I imagine my choice of what to play on full release will similarly depend on what companions are available and which I like best. That said, playing a ranger/lockpick specialist has been surprisingly fun, with high dex and wisdom being pretty good for various checks.

I have a deep fondness for beast races in general. I always play an Argonian in ES games. Played a Lizard in D:OS2. Trolls and Tauren in WoW. Charr in GW2.

Right now I just have tieflings and Githyanki, but I am not really about that demonic origins stuff so Githyanki are the only choice I really like currently.

I am really, really hoping Half-Orc and Dragonborn will be available on full release. If so a Dragonborn Druid will probably be my first playthrough.

I've always been a fan of wood elves (all of the awesome of elves with none of the annoying smugness, plus I love bows) so that's what I picked for my female rogue

I have always had a thing for anything elven, and that included drow as well. My first BG3 EA run was actually with a seldarine drow cleric of Eilistraee, what kinda disappointed me though was that Eilistraee doesn't seem to have many interactions in the EA so far. Talkative skelly had something interesting to say, and I can't really remember any other mentions of Eilistraee, well, I might have to replay my cleric one day again, after we get some extra content added to the EA, cause as of now, I don't really feel like going through the entire EA again. :P But, come full release, I will 100% go for a seldarine drow sorceress and then I might experiment with a drow cleric of Eilistraee, and a high elven wizard. Humans? Pfeh, I'm one, so no thanks. wink

Anything but human ...
Curently my first character was Tiefling Warlock, then i tryed Githyanki Ranger, then Dwarf Fighter (since i finaly could play female dwarf with marvelous beard!), then Lolth-sworn Drow Cleric, and finaly Wood Elf Ranger ... next in the line i have High Elf Mage.

But in full release i still wondering between Githzerai Monk (if they will be added ofc) and my usual Gnome Wizzard/Sorceress. smile

My ideal would be to play an eladrin bard, which obviously is not currently possible, and (in the case of the eladrin) might never be possible. So currently I play as other elf subraces painting myself in eladrin colours, pretending that's my actual subrace and hoping for the best.

I am going for aasimar (teifling if they don't implement it) celestial warlock or cleric. I like being a goodie two shoes sue me. Beyond that the RP depends on my god or patron so I'm undecided there.
