I'm probably gonna feel really stupid after someone explains this, but I can't figure out how to disengage. I can only get the Jump/Disengage button to Jump, and that is not always helpful.

you use jump to disengage from a npc, if you jump away from an enemy, it won't get an attack of opportunity

If you want to attack, jump behind the enemy to get advantage.
If you already have advantage, attack with the best weapon you have then switch melee weapons and use bonus action to attack with off hand weapon.
Yes, you can change equipment anytime, even during combat.

If you want to get away, jump away from the enemy.

Yes, they have merged jump and disengage for players, even though some enemies use disengage ( without jumping ).

Every time someone hits the Jump/Disengage button, a rogue gets kicked in the groin.

But it makes sense! Jump is not an action and Disengage is an action, so together they make a bonus action.

Damn ! There is some sense in that.

Hoping we'll be able to create great assumptions-free Custom Characters and be given great roleplay options.
