Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Crash to Desktop between Acts!!!!

I had a problem w/crashes between acts 2 and 3, came here, got the tip to change to lower res. Great. Worked fine. So when I was about to travel between acts 3 and 4 I changed to a lower res. so I wouldn't crash....But I crashed, 4 times so far <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> What gives?! I'm playing 1.43 (I've decided to wait a week between patch loads since I'm sick of downloading a new patch on my dialup connection every freaking day). Does anyone have any other thoughts on why I'm crashing between acts? To repeat: I've already tried changing resolution... any other suggestions?

Did you shut down all non-essential programs (anti-virus, etc) before starting the game?
Did you switch to 640x480? Just checking if the 'lower res' was the lowest res.

don't know if this helps or not........
but i had a funny thing keep happening to me when i try to change res....
"my desktop must be the same res as i want to set the game at".....
or else i get errors and crashes.... so make sure the desktop res and the game res are both the same...... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> ...does that make sense?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Well, I tried matching my desktop resolution to match the game. 480x640 (or maybe it's the other way around), anyway, that didn't work. This one looks like the game killer for me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />
