So this was just a bored thought that popped in my tadpole infested brain and I thought why not share it?

Since Gale stated that he has a cat I wondered what all the current companions would say if they had their own pets? And through thought I came to the conclusion of:

Gale: cat (I feel like it's a calico breed)

Wyll: a husky (or some form of big dog)

Astarion: rat boy gets a rat

Shadowheart: a snake maybe?

Laezel: either a dragon or a turtle.

Feel free to let me know about your own conclusions

Or even let me know what your main characters pet is too!

i can see Wyll with a fox or a ferret (that is some animal that implies being cunny).

Astarion? A cat from the rarest and luxurious breed, even a white peacock.

Shadowheart? A owl, a buzzard.

Laezel? A Varanus komodoensis (komodo dragon)

Gale cat's? I think its somethink like a Maincoon or on the oposite a sphynx like one.


(for my Tavs? a goat).

I gave my Jimbo a goat too

I’d rather not see the developers work on non-combat pets following you around when so many other vital things need to be worked on and adjusted.

You can already get a dog and owlbear at the camp.

Oh no this isnt at all a suggestion this is just simple a "wonder what?" Kind of thing, you get me?

I feel the same way, as much as I'd love to implement animal followers it would be too much work, but again this is just a general discussion

I want a pet Tarrasque.

Gale already has a cat, albeit winged, so cat it is.

Shadowheart I feel is also a cat person. Something less emotionally needy that she can still cuddle when she needs to.

Lae'zel would have a snake. She'd respect its predatory nature and find its cold lack of empathy something to admire.

Wyll I feel would have a dog because dogs are the pet option of heroes, and while he'd take decent care of it he wouldn't really love the dog the way he should.

Astarion... Would probably hate every sort of pet you can get. They all need maintenance of some sort and he'd see that as boring responsibility.

Maybe Astarion gets a pet rock or some sea monkeys.

Agreed! I dont think Astarion can be trusted with anything that's alive, do you think hed kill the sea monkeys? Can sea monkeys die?

Astarion getting a rock would probably be the best bet, let's hope the rock is resilient enough because I bet he would torture the poor thing into cracking!

Ok, but what about your very own Tavs?

Oh, i think there was a misunderstanding. I meant what about the pets you give to your Tavs, not what about the Tavs as pets (even I can fathom one of my Tavs as pet either of Laez'el or Astarion )

I do too, still I have two lovely cats as pets (and had the means and the proper house I would also have a goat).

Astarion would have a cat or a weasel that he could watch brutally killing things and pet whilst holding villainous speeches.

Lassie would have a guinea pig. Cute companion keeping your spirits up and a nutritious food source. Double the purpose, twice as efficient.

Can definitely see that, In my mind im picturing a persian cat that's cross eyed

I feel like he would use the cat to catch mice for him to feed on

On the other hand, people might prefer him to go the Lestat path of pet-keeping

Would definitely like him more if he just became Lestat

But I dont think I've ever seen a vampire keep a (live) pet now that I think about it
